Wasn’t Brady worth it at 22-25 mil

In hindsight , honestly , shouldn’t the cowboys just grabbed Brady for 25-25 mil for the best chance to reach the Super Bowl this year or next while we still have the talent on the roster ?
Does any one really believe Dak gives us a better chance than Brady in the 2 year window ?

From a cutthroat business perspective? The smartest thing the Cowboys could have done would have been to tag and trade Prescott and sign Brady for that two year $50 million contract. You would then have two years or more to find and develop that young quarterback and have them learn under the GOAT.

And this is coming from someone who is a fan of Prescott's work.

It was definitely a missed opportunity, but the Joneses get attached to their players and don't even consider such things.

Why is there only a 2 year window? Remember the window that was supposed to close when Romo and Witten aged, yet here we are still talking about the window?

I think that gives you the answer - that the goal is to try and build a team that can be competitive for more than just a small window.

Normally i'd say yes they should have done this. but look at the bronco's, they got Peyton for a few years & got a superbowl if my memory serves me... but look at them now they are a revolving door at QB. Finding a QB in draft is a total crap shoot if you find one you keep that one and ride with them. I do not want another X+ years of Quincy Drew / Chad to finally find a romo.

If all details are equal I'd take dak over Brady. With that said though Brady + extra money for Clowney + an extra draft pick for trading dak would be tough to pass up.

Brady lost two starters on the o-line, an all pro and likely HOF TE, and #1 WR before game 1.

How does Dak handle that adversity?

Brady's defense last year allowed only 20 TDs in 16 games. They also intercepted 25 passes, most in the NFL.

Conversely, the Cowboys defense allowed 35 TDs and intercepted 7 passes, last in the NFL.

If you think that defense didn't help Brady "handle that adversity" you're kidding yourself.

The Cowboys are looking well past a two-year window with their QB. It’s pretty much Super Bowl or bust for Brady in Tampa. They’ll be looking for a QB in the next year or two. The chances of Brady winning a Super Bowl in Tampa is slim in my opinion. There were games last season where you could tell father time was catching up to him.
