good grief gregg, you would have been crying they overspent on dak if they paid him what he wants. it so easy to see in every one of your posts you hate Jerry and his family. sheesh
We all should hate the way Jerry and the Jones family runs Cowboys Football.

And why he remains the most hated sports personality in Dallas.

I could be supportive if this meant we’d decided Dak wasn’t our future and will look to the draft and FA next year for his replacement.

That we aren’t committing 30+ million a year or years for an average to above average passer. But that’s not what our Football Diots are doing.

I don't think they ever cared to re-sign Jones. Last year it was Lawrence, Cooper, Zeke(surprise!) and Dak as their main guys to get long term deals first.

Most of their comments came off wanting to get those guys down. IIRC Jones was usually sidestepped or the generic answers were given for him.

Either they didn't trust him long term, don't value the position money wise after Carr or thought some team would simply outbid them.
I don't wanna get into a Byron Jones debate, but the guy just isnt a difference maker.

They also seem to want to get bigger guys and play press, which I'm not at all against.

I just wish there was an enforcer type over the top.

We dont have anyone that comes close there, or anyone that can possibly become that at the safety spot.

But during all the Adams trade banter, I was told by many here that safeties dont matter.

Ok.

We’re trying to appease to public perception on one hand waiting for the team to validate Daks worth this level of contract to those who know he’s not that level of passer.

IMO if he’s worth 33 or 35 million he’s worth 37 million.

I think he’s more like the high 20’s. But part of the problem is Jerry has pumped him up like he’s an Elite QB but doesn’t want to pay it. Can’t have it both ways.

Jerry has made this bed. He will have to sleep in it or find him another QB. Either way he’ll be bashed if it doesn’t work out . And deserve every bit of it.

I think it's that he supposedly talks Jerry out of semi radical moves.

Problem is, he shouldnt be talked out of all of them.
This response by Royce is spot on. @rocyaice

“Stephen keeps getting credit for moves he's not making. He is not responsible for the talent on this team.“

Jerry deserves more credit than he receives sometimes for some of the good picks or decisions regardless of overall it still suks. But this is so true. Going back to the Manziel situation now every time there’s a good decision or talent acquisition some fans want to credit Stephen which all he is responsible for is Cap Mgmt .

It is about the pie and where you spend it is critical.

Who is paying top money on an OL, RB, WR and then won’t do it on their QB? Either priorities are out of whack or we became All In on the wrong QB.

And then we wonder why over investing on offense that isn’t great enough to carry the team further we don’t have a good defense.

It’s pitiful a #1 offense can’t carry a team further than 8-8. Poor use of Cap money. Over invested in one side of the ball that isn’t great enough to do more.
Newsflash! We offered top dollar to the QB in question. He turned it down.

The Dallas Cowboys did not sign Dak Prescott to a long-term contract because of Stephen Jones' stubbornness. As expected with the Dallas Cowboys, they made...

I like the fact that MM gets a year to coach Dak and see where it goes. I trust his judgement more than Stephen or Jerry as to whether they pay him next year or not..........
