Shout out to the Athletic.

NFL off. coordinator on Dak Prescott: “I think people are surprised at how good he is at reading and processing and throwing the ball where it needs to go and throwing it accurately. I have him as a high, high (tier) 2, a top-7 quarterback in the league.”

He will be easy to replace though Rocy. Guys his level of play grow on trees.

I love Dak, became a believer his rookie season, but I'm not so sure I believe all that's written there particularly on processing and accuracy. He's got some warts, which I think are offset by his leadership and durability.

As far as Tier rating, to me there's QBs that have won SuperBowls and then there's those are trying to win Superbowls.

Great. A top 7 QB who wants top 1-2 money. If he was demanding top 5 money and happy to work with the team on the structure, no problem. Would you pay the 7th best anyone like he was the best at his position? I wouldn't. I like Dak and hope he is the QB in Dallas for a long time and wins super bowls but that is because they are my favorite team, not because I am hung up on Dak Prescott. Same thing as the Adams situation. Yeah, I wanted them to trade for him but after seeing what it would have taken, no thanks. I want them to sign Dak, but not for $38-40 million a year for 4 years with no way to lessen the cap hit.

Starting QBs at almost any level don't grow on trees, much less Dak's level or better. The NFL is still struggling to find 32 viable starting QBs. That's why guys like Keenum and Fitzpatrick and Joe Flacco are still getting a shot to start here and there.

I think the importance here is knowing how inflation works. So yes when he signs he will be a top 2 paid guy but if in 2 years that turns into the 7th or 8th highest paid are we still complaining about him wanting "top 2 money"?

if we're moving on...don't miss on the next one.
in the JJ era...its a short list of QBs drafted that have worked out...
Troy.
Dak.

thats the list.
let the scouting dept do their job JJ.

hopefully both sides eventually get this worked out.
best for both.

Why would any OC, other than his own, be studying Dak enough to have a legitimate opinion on how he reads and processes the play? How seriously can the claim of "people are surprised" about how well he does it, be taken?

Why would people even be "surprised" that a QB who just completed his fourth full season be able to effectively read and process?

Interesting to note that some of the same people who criticize these one off, opinion tweets which refute their opinions champion the one off, opinion tweets that reinforce their opinions.

Textbook confirmation bias.

Who knows, maybe an OC feels like he can learn from watching other teams and QBs. Not really an outlandish idea.

That said, I'm always skeptical of unnamed sources, so I don't see a reason to either condemn or support the OP.
