Dak either elevates to a top five qb and gets paid as such or he is gone and we draft a new one and use dalton to bridge the development
A lot easier said than done, this scenario could potentially set this team back 2-3 years, if not more.

This is why Dak is under scrutiny . He did not play fair with the team that believed in him and drafted him and gave him the best weapons to succeed. He chose to be self entitled, stubborn , and full of arrogance. Not the right type of leader or QB you want to take your team forward.
Honestly , with the cap dropping , the team cannot afford to keep him , which means the cowboys are better off trading him and moving forward.

To me its the fact he played like boo boo down the stretch of some must win games.

The Cowboys may offer to pay Dak Prescott what he deserves and nothing more!

That much is somewhat obvious by what has happened, until this point in time. o_O

Mahomes' money isn't far removed from what has already been offered by Dallas!

In fair perspective, the Cowboys will see what else Dak can offer in terms of talent.

I don't think we are done after this year, necessarily. Certainly not ideal but the other shoe here is what will other teams pay? Lots of people always assumed that Dak could get more money then anybody on a resign. They may still believe that. But I honestly don't believe he comes close to seeing an offer like that. I'm not even sure he will see an offer that might match the one he got from Dallas. Dak may not have a lot of choice here. This thing might go beyond just this next year and then your basically three years away from a contract. I don't know how this will work but I know this, Dak should have taken the offer he got. CAA are not good guys. They are not for Dak IMO. They are for CAA.

And this is what we have to deal with.

We just went thru 9 years under Romo with nothing to show for it.

Now we have added 4 more years under Dak with little to show for it.

If Dak wins a SB, it will only be becuz Dak has surpassed Mahomes or the rest of the league has dropped back to Dak.

Which seems more likely?

It’s a mess of their own making, said Prescott. The team is too deep to be derailed by injuries. There are no excuses for penalties and drops. He spent this week demanding better focus; demanding that they prepare more like running back Ezekiel Elliott, tight end Jason Witten, and, of course, him.

“I always practice hard. More individuals need to do that,” Prescott said. “Just from the outlook of it, just from my eye, I think they do.”

The fact that Cooper essentially bailed his career out is pretty well known to anybody paying attention. This statement is similar to when he was struggling before the team went and got him. He blamed his receivers including TEs, that they need to help him out.

That's a great article about Dak wanting his team to focus and practice, i guess you post article headlines without actually reading the article... it literally is saying Dak does what Wentz can't .....

Calling out your teammates for not practicing while saying your doing everything is pretty much blaming them for the losses..

And Went ended up beating him with a battered line-up and clinching a play-off birth, so...

And Dak is the same guy it took a week to throw a TD in training camp in 2018 and the one everybody says doesn’t really practice well...
