No he's not. There should be no doubt that he is 2nd tier great, not in the same convo as PManning and Brady.
I'm talking talent not where he should rank. Talent wise he is way ahead of either of them & they both have said so.

We should be able to manage a 3-way trade

We get Rodgers, Green Bay gets picks, and 3rd team gets Prescott.

Ya, Rodgers walks on water and heals the sick too. Lets just stop this nonsense.
Ok
Understood but it surely wasn't Romo or Dak's fault we haven't been to the Super Bowl. Quarterback hasn't been the issue.
I really have a strong opinion on this subject, and it has been discussed to the nth degree. Overall from an organization perspective Jerry Jones has ruined the culture this team had. Culture is the one thing that starts from the top and it might be the most important aspect of team building.
This is true whether you are running, Google, Microsoft, Costco, Cowboys, or your own household.
Jerry runs this organization like a mom and pop shop. His one statement in February/March of 1994 still rings in my ears. The time he drunkenly said 500 coaches could win the SB with that team. That one mistake ruined possibly the greatest NFL dynasty in history. Yeah we got one more SB but to me that team could have been so much more. I have never forgiven Jerry for that mistake. He doubled down on his stupidity and hired Switzer, maybe the most unqualified coach for that situation. Even if he had hired Mike Shanahan we would have kept the train going.

Now onto Romo and Dak, I am sure some of you have seen my comments on Romo, again I wish there was a way to reference your previous posts.
Romo was a good player in a league where you needed the QB to be great. He had plenty of opportunities to get us to a championship game, please not I didn't say SB win. I can go year by year and show how we underachieved in the big games.
Say what you want, he was talented, an unbelievable find as an undrafted player. He made a metric ton of money. He was remember for his shortcomings more than his victories. He could never carry us to a win when we needed it in the playoffs. Really that is a full stop.
Yes Romo was saddled with bad coaching, but then it reverts back to Jerry and culture

Dak is also a good player, to me not as accurate of a passer as Romo, a better leader no doubt. Romo got out when the getting out was good. Maybe Dak can take us to a SB, maybe he cant. I really need us to get to a championship game. The fact that it has been 25 years is depressing to say the least.

I can really go on and on about Romo in a year by year breakdown, and depending on the vitriol I get from this post..

I agree. they are way below him on pure talent.

Looks like we just disagree on this one. That's why they are called "personal" opinions.
You're not defining QB talent correctly. It includes the mental aspect, the clutch aspect, the leader aspect, height, teammate/coaching respect, and many other intangibles. Rodgers falls short in areas, putting him clearly behind Brady PManning.

Simple arm strength is a very poor way to evaluate talent.

I agree that all these things go into how effective a player is and thus why the "measurement" guys without those traits fail. The best players are rarely simply the most talented. Primarily, I would say that mental aspect & competitiveness is what separates the great.

However, when i talk about talent I start with the dictionary definition, "natural aptitude or skill". Your talent is what you were born with. Skills are what you learn & develop. Very few people have the talent Aaron has. Peyton & Brady succeeded with limited talent by developing their skills and excelling at the mental\other aspects. I think Aaron is strong in those areas as well but yes Brady is the GOAT. Peyton, I respect for what he accomplished but he's not in my top 5 QB's of all time.

FWIW, even though i have always respected his game I have gotten tired of some of the non stop accolades AR receives. I had begun to move him down my rankings. But then I watch some of the things he does and I'm just amazed. So its more than just the arm strength but it is a huge weapon to be able to throw significant distance, with pace and accuracy from an awkward position. I believe that is way more natural talent than skill. Players who can do those things can't tell you how they do it because its always been a part of who they are.

At least that is my two cents. :)

Brady and PManning both have a very rare talent to see the field and make decisions in nanoseconds. There's more natural skill there than you're giving them credit for.

Aaron lacks the talent as a leader.

Dak > Rodgers. Rodgers misses throws no one complains.

Let's also not forget that Rodgers has been on the receiving end of some highly beneficial ref calls from some questionable roughing calls to 2 phantom hands to the face calls against the Lions. The refs stole that game from the Lions.

Rodgers is not mentally tough, and that derails him every year except when he has a top 5 D.

Only number I want to give Aaron Rodgers is 5, as in a 5 digit knuckle sandwich right in the middle of his snarkya ugly face.
