After not coming to terms with the Cowboys on a long-term deal before the July 15 deadline, Dak Prescott told Jori Epstein of USA Today: "I m a Cowboy and couldn t be happier." He surely would have been happier with a long-term deal. But neither side seems to be harboring animosity. "We had a great visit [more]

i said last year dak wouldn't sign. he would not acknowledge the the lesson of the pie chart. (possibly he didn't care) now that he has a much better understanding of said pie, signing him next year is far more likely. the fo was severely criticized by many for stating their desire to have dak be our qb of the future as if this was a poor negotiating tactic. seems better than denigrating him prior to dealing. now dak says "i'm a cowboy and couldn't be happier" will we now accuse dak of being a fool for having said that. is he weakening his bargaining leverage for saying he's a happy cowboy?

Now that is the ultimate bubble,, Jerry stands minimal risk.
Billionaire, that can isolate on that boat.
All hot babes, Chefs, and bartenders must get temp checked before boarding....
lest you forget, the boat's namesake is also on board.

Has anyone seen Jerry? Just wondering because you usually hear from him weekly, and its been months.
Jerry is in the super high rick category for COVID.
You know he is holed up on his yacht fumigating anyone that comes aboard.

I was going to say out yachting around.
But with all the storms going on. Maybe not.
We would have heard if he got caught in a storm though.

Probably at home or at the Star.

This Is PR nonsense...if they wanted to sign Dak, he’d be signed. Dak blew his chance. Only hope now is a deep run into the playoffs and pro bowl stats.

Not signing Dak right now is a direct result of the criticism the team received for supposedly over paying for Amari, Smith, Zeke and Lawence.

So just holding the Dak deal to $32 mil looks smart. Nobody is screaming about over paying for Dak at the moment.

And now the pandemic comes into play, dropping revenues come into play and contracts like QBs in Houston and Baltimore are going to be watched closely.

I could not be happier for us by the looks of things. Stuff we could not have negotiated for suddenly appear.

Nice.

Say whatever you want about the Jones, sometimes it better to be slow and stubborn.

Not fast and regretful.

Boy, oh boy, it seems to me I've heard that same thought a while back and I'm still waiting!
Here hoping Dak doesn't depart this team before it ever becomes a real possibility! :muttley:

Price - 30mil or less
In a year
Price - 38 or more

sure but you have to do the blend of the contracts for those two years plus the new deal would run out in 2 or 3 anyway

it’s not apples to apples the way you are stating it. Dallas was smart to play him out on his rookie deal rather than start paying 30 mil plus 2 years ago.

do the math it’s super simple 32 x 4 is much more than 38 x 2 plus the last 2 years of his rookie deal....and they actually got a nice break with the tag number ....granted it’s locked in so they lose flexibility

sweet juicy talk like always, but the question is does Dak want low 30s or does he want to "set the market". Funny how the definition of market value has changed before and after an extension was considered for Dak. Before it was "teams set the market and pay based on performance". Now it's "teams pay more than the next guy no matter what, regardless of performance and since he was on a 4th round rookie deal he has to get more". eL-oH-eL
