I’ve heard all along that Moore would call the plays, but it would be with Mikes concepts. He didn’t want to change terminology this season so they could all grasp it quickly. When we retained Moore originally I assumed it was to call the JG offense which I wasn’t happy about. But everything I’ve heard since is that it will be Mikes playbook, with the same terms they’ve been using for year.

Having said that, changing the terminology with a new team during Covid might be overwhelming if that’s truly the case!

Most teams take years to learn WCO concepts.
I think most teams have mostly the same plays. It's the wrinkles and situational awareness that matter most.

17th in red zone scoring overall and 22nd on the road, despite being number 1 in passing yards. He threw only 8 INTs, but he was also sacked only 23 times despite being second in the league in passing attempts. Padded stats in blowouts and when he threw over 40 times, they were 1 and 7. Not a single win when down at halftime.
Interesting. I'll take your padded stats stuff into it's proper consideration.

Would go over about as well as a turd in a punch bowl for any new HC to come out and say that his starting QB sucked, or any player on the roster for that matter.

Expressing that it would go over about as well as a turd in a punch bowl for any new HC to come out stating that their starting QB sucked is an exaggerated contrasting example to what McCarthy actually stated about Dak.
Mike McCarthy on Dak Prescott: “He’s looked very good in the throwing segments of the strength and conditioning phase that we’re in right now. We’re very pleased with where he is. Very impressive.”

I don't know how that can be construed as McCarthy new HC puffery on Dak. It's solid praise of the starting quarterback at the onset of pre-season. To my recollection McCarthy seems to be a straightforward guy and says what he means. So I guess McCarthy felt a need to give fake praise to Kellen Moore as well since he is the new HC? McCarthy may be the new HC of the Cowboys but not of the NFL in which he overall successfully thrived and helped his former Packers team win a Super Bowl.

Yes.
Peeps here say: What else is he going to say?

I respond: there's a thousand things he could say differently and remain diplomatic while not praising anything.

So lazy, that argument.

I have an idea! Seeing as how you are so knowledgeable about everything, maybe they should have hired you as the head coach.

I don't ever claim to be football smart. I claim to be an excitable observant that enjoys being taught the nuances of the game. Ask @xwalker and several others.
You can ask anyone here and I've kind of been here a while.
But other things... Yeah, I'm smart.

I understand and remember what I read like salary cap stuff. I know how to write a public speaker's script no matter the subject, given proper time to research and edit..
I know how to say everything while saying nothing, depending on the paycheck's and public's situation.
I know that the Cowboy's head coach knows how he can phrase something while being a direct praise and an indirect one while moving the storyline forward.

But you won't see me trying to hammer the table about on-the-field stuff because I generally defer to more knowledgeable posters.

On players, I just give my best while knowing I'm not the best at this game.

I'm just here to give you something different to read. Maybe I get annoying, maybe I amuse.

Hopefully I do both.

Ok maybe I jumped the gun. Sorry about that. I’m not totally sold on Prescott either. Guess I’m a little touchy. However, I am glad about the coaching hire.I have wanted Garrett gone for years.Trying to be more optimistic about this team.

Ya,,, MM first statement to the media... my QB sucks. lol
Dial it down on coach speak people, you will gain nothing relevant.
The cattle believe everything CNN says, so why shouldnt they believe what the new HC says.
Open your eyes and close your ears,,, its an amazing enlightening experience.
If politics were allowed on this board I would completely roast you. Unfortunately you get to keep watching Fox News and thinking everything in the USA is ok.
