That is really interesting on the tight ends and offensive line. The line has two major question marks right now.
Good point about the question marks, though I don't think it's two. Williams gives us a high floor at LG. Maybe McGovern takes it from him, but Williams is probably better there for pass protection.

C is the big question, but Looney is the floor there with potential upgrades from McGovern or Biadasz.

I'm hoping for McGovern at C. He played it a year in college. Came into the league with NFL ready power. Biadasz is probably not ready for nfl power.

Williams and McGovern are probably our top two for those two slots. Let Biadasz take over as swing interior for Looney next year.

For the top three, we're as strong as we've been since 2016, with Tyron and Martin healthy, and Collins really a borderline Pro Bowler last year. Probably was playing at a Pro Bowl level by the end of the season, should break through this year.

williams is returning from a serious injury that happened late in the year though. Hard to think he will be ready to play in september.

you'd have to trace back to tyler Biadasz's 2018 tape before he occurred the hip-shoulder issues,

- you dont find a Dave Rimington award winner lacking in power. you have to factor if those prior health issues limited him more than what he is ususal like, and that had to have factored iin him dropping in the draft.
Tyler was very instrumental in Wisconsin's vaulted run attack, and his rep has him as if he gets his big mitts on you, .it;s over.

- from i ve seen his tape and profile, it seems to be a matter of coach up technique to make sure he doesn't over commit and over bend that
causes him to lose balance on occasions. otherwise da Biadasz seems to be a sound technician with strong hands, arms and a terrific football IQ
and knack for the game and the pivot position,

- In short i'd much rather go with one who has excelled at the center position than just guys who have the versatility to play the position,
it's a different, higher level.

- If ...and only if Tyler's medical recovery is still pending and such that this wipe out off season plays a factor in his learning process
would i consider a vet Looney take the charge until Tyler gets caught up,..on both a physical and cerebral sense.

Seems to me that some of our lowest rankings were on track, although, several were likely due to the factors of unknowns due to various factors. TE was a bit surprising but it remains to be seen how much progress has been made by those behind Jarwin. The secondary has unknowns in Diggs, due to being a rookie and the others from having very mediocre years in 2019. DE wasn't rated too highly due to those behind Lawrence are basically being unknown commodities. Lawrence can't do it by himself -- that much is obvious. Hopefully, Aldon Smith might prove a pleasant surprise. The safety spot is quite mediocre at best, too, according to ESPN. No big surprises, for the most part, though, imho.

Best outcome is Biadasz beating out McGovern at C. I think that happens *eventually*, but that could be a year or two in the making. This year, either one might need a few games behind Looney to get up to speed.

I like the future for both Biadasz and McGovern, and expect them to be our starting C,LG pair at some point. Just don't know how soon it will be.

I wouldn't count out Williams at LG, because he has the experience and is probably just better in pass protection than McGovern. But if Williams isn't full speed from the knee surgery soon, he may never get the chance to take back LG from McGovern. Biadasz being ready for C makes that even more plausible.

Williams thought he would be ready to play in September. But that's the only injury update I've heard on him. In May.

If he's iffy for the start of the season, McGovern likely takes LG and never gives it up.

if it take two years to beat out just an average center like Looney, then Biadasz is nowhere near the highly regarded prospect the Cowbosy
thought he was when they traded up to get his services. and it's a difference between just a few games vs needing 2 years to surpass a guy who wont even be here on the roster next year, and a guy who'll likely be in competition for a OG starting role than a starting center here,..imo.

i wouldn't count out Williams starting out as the LG either going into the early season - just for that very reason as you mentioned with vet game experience, and apparently he is ready to go from recovery of his ACL tear that ended his season.

With McGovern and the wipe out off season along with still zero game experience from is IR'ed year, he's still a learning process in the
making, and then some want him starting right away at center at the NFL level ?

He hasn't been placed on the PUP, so it doesn't sound like as slow a recovery as you may have previously heard.

McGovern has been on an NFL team for a year now. He could study the playbook and work out for the last year. He should be far ahead of where he was at as a rookie. And a 2nd round pick at oline is a guy you might just start.

As for 2 years for Biadasz, if he loses the C battle to McGovern this year, and Williams stays at LG, I'm sure he'd get a chance to challenge McGovern next year, but he may not win. Could be McGovern and Williams for the next 2 years at C, LG.

Good sign that he isn't on PUP. Will get practice.

Williams said ready for the first game. He didn't elaborate on when he thought he'd be ready for practice.

Reading a playbook while on IR, and getting physically engaged vs DL in the trenches and learning the nuisances of the NFL level
are two different animals. and there's no substitute for live game experience.

remember that if he's on IR, he can't physically practice with the team in any sense, even if he was recovered, ..and with his torn pec he basically would've been extremely limited rehab anyway. That's what his workout consisted of - rehab recovery.
And frankly with the Cowboys own strengthening program being a wipe out as well, we won't get to see McGovern as full speed as he
should have been.

And add that to zero training camp, zero preseason games and or course zero NFL reg games, he doesn't have
game experience to speak of, and that hold volume. With a bit over 14 days of practice and who knows how many will be full hitting
before the reg starts.

The disrespect for Jarwin and Schultz is sickening.
I don't know who Mike Clay is or his credentials but I would say that QB, WR and OL are ranked too high. I'll take TB's WR's over DAL and probably ATL's and NO's and the C and LG spots on the OL are not solid at this time. That LB ranking seems a bit high as well.

But, does it really matter what one man thinks? How many others are doing rankings like this?

Exactly. I believe The Athletic has our defense ranked 23rd IIRC and I would be more inclined to believe that ranking than this one, just my opinion.
