Ditto here.
i too wanted Griffen over Clowney. ...i just cannot sit well with a 3 sack DE in Clowney.

i wonder what the terms and years are for. I didn't think he'd sign with us seeking that last lucrative big contract.

Clowney presumably has more upside and is in his prime, but Griffen is the more proven player and overall I believe he'll contribute more consistently. Glad the Cowboys went this direction.

With Griffin on board as a starter,,... why now would we keep a 9 million dollar backup in Crawford ?
Give that 9 million to add to Griffen's contract. ..
Unless they drastically reduce Crawford's salary to make him a cheap nickel DT (which we have Gallimore and Hill for that)
, .. i just don't see how it would make sense retaining him at that price now.

Well let's see Hill dont need. ARMSTRONG AND JACKSON one of them or both would need to go if Gregory comes back..
Yea could see a trade
Maybe even Crawford or Woods
None of those guys hold any trade value and nobody is trading for Crawford with that contract. Woods isn't going anywhere either as only him and Poe are the only true 1 Techs on the team.

i wouldn't ..and why cut him loose? Gregory's done everything possible in his reinstatement process, the Cowboys Stephen Jones
has already said they have not given up on him, ..he's very talented and we can use that kind of terrific depth

The guy i would consider cutting loose now ? .... 9 million dollar average rusher Tyrone Crawford.
-Griffin
-Dlaw
-Gregory
-Alden Smith
- Bradley Anae

There is no need to cut Crawford. Just adds another quality player into the rotation and is a good piece for a multiple front scheme. Griffen just signed for 6 million, they still are under the salary cap.

not trying to downplay this, but why hasn't he already been snatched up a long time ago? And are we going to actually have a stout defensive line for the first time in forever or is this a dream team 2.0 letdown?

You can roll the unused cap to next year. We should at least request he have a pay cut.
