How can anyone still defend what we had coaching wise after this offseason?

Imagine crediting McCarthy for signings or draft quality after following his tenure in GB. Either he's done a 180 in ability to draft and sign talent or he's not involved in the process.

Also imagine forgetting that under Garrett we drafted extremely well for a half decade.

Just imagine. Couldn't be me.
It could be you. Drafted well? Charlton and Hill were 2 of our last 3 picks. We drafted good FOOTBALL players this time around. Not pet cats of certain coaches. And yes I do credit McCarthy for the FA acquisitions. When’s the last time we brought in or drafted a big run staffing defensive lineman under Garrett? I remember a lot of quick twitch references.

These are Front Office moves.

Although at one particular position, DT, I do think Marinelli had an overbearing input.
I think he would've welcomed McCoy and Gallimore anyway, but maybe not Poe.

Griffen wasn't available last year. Quinn was...and was a very good move.

As for giving credit to MM for FA acquisitions....that's way off base. Maybe the DC had input on the Poe acquisition though and MM didn't stand against it.

Will Clay has his database for all NFL players--FA or not.
Dallas knows who they like and has a value for each if they become available.

Either way....glad Garrett and Rod are gone.
Looking forward to the season if we have it.
This team is pretty loaded.

Yesterday’s press conference was another example who all the eyes were on. And who’s leading and running this franchise unfortunately.

I know you hate to watch but it was very painful. It’s obvious what our ownerships priorities are as all he talked about was our popularity and why this coaching decision was made.
I don't hate to watch it, I just don't watch it. The only info I get on the Joneses comes from here as I refuse to listen to, read or watch anything involving them except on gameday when they have to show the obligatory shots from the suite. That's the first camera check Fox does during their set up. If the NFL had gone with cutouts, Booger was going to fill ATT with 100,000 cutouts of himself.

I know what I have to do to remain just the fan I am today, which is a pretty dispassionate one. I could easily, which is sad, flip this the other way and dump 60 years of fanhood and join the other side. I have to guard against that but I still get a good feeling looking at him after a loss. No fan should feel that way but that's how I feel. I left the Mavs because of that tool Cuban but so many years vested and so many great memories are hard to leave.

We'll have this season and probably many more to decide how far we have or haven't come. Personally, I'm quite encouraged by what I've seen thus far. I'm also hoping the upswing in our fortunes may continue on, into the years ahead. I'm seeing a more stable organization developing in 2020 and am keeping those hopes up for more of that to come in the near and distant future. Let's be thankful for the encouraging signs we've seen during this offseason and in the present. If that trend continues, the future ahead may be a great one to behold. Take heart, folks! Better times await. ;)

Thirst things 1st, the previous coaching regime were a hundredweight of putrefying camel turds in a moth eaten hessian sack.
But....
The new regime has yet to actually coach a game.
Does it look like We upgraded areas of need, well yes indeed.
But looks can deceive.
We might have signed...
Ha-Ha the risible safety
Gerald the geriatric
Dontari the big pile of Poe
The pass-rushing Griffen, a mythical creature that only hunts in the Northern lake Country.

Time
As ever
Will tell.

The fact we have brought in a more experienced and proven HC allowing him to bring in his own staff with the exception of Moore should provide some renewed hope.

It shouldn’t be a slam on Garrett who hands were mostly tied and why I labeled him our Greatest Puppet. It is what it was.

Unfortunately the Football Idiot and his Cheapskate Son are still running Cowboys Football continuing to offer up their meddling and distractions while still being the biggest obstacles and handicaps to overcome . Much like Parcells encountered the last time we hired a proven HC which should leave us all cautiously excited.

All we have to ask is what could wrong? Lol

Watching yesterday’s training camp press conference offered me all I need to know with both Jones in why this franchise has struggled regardless who our coaches were this era.

What "meddling and distractions"?

Is it okay to be hopeful? Optimistic even?

I know...it's better to err on the side of "caution". Maintain some form of "objectivity".

Screw that where's me pom poms and rose glasses!

There are still a few holdouts, three names comes to mind.

But I'm too classy to call them out by name.
:muttley:

Name them!
We shall tar and feather them!
We shall mock them and shame them!
We will make it our personal mission to purge them!
Imagine, having an independent mind! Imagine the gall, ya'll!!!
Here we think united! Like a giant, moving amoeba!
We strive for a mob mentality!!
We are like the gym owners of thought who refuse to close down!I
Name them! We shall smite them!!!!!

In all honesty. Not even a year into the McCarthy era and we have revamped our entire DL, had our best draft in years, have brought in a great staff who are all excellent at what they do, and Jerry has been very quiet. How can anyone defend what has been going on under the prior regime? I’m honestly asking.
the release of garrett and even witten were jerry's last links to the product on the field. it's all stephen's now. the players, the coaches, the scouting dept. jerry is like sears, jc penney and montgomery wards. once the nation's stalwart retail giants in days of yore, all crushed by new leadership. the title of gm is now just a paper title. there's a new sheriff in town and his name is stephen.

We still don't have any proof that the team is any better on the field?

retaining the services of a first year oc who produces the #1 offense in terms of yards in the league can hardly be considered meddling. at least not to the more astute among us.

I actually think the past 10 years we've had some really great drafts. Especially with will Mcclay running things. Started focusing on the oline. The problem has always been coaching. Coaching can turn an 8-8 team into 10-6 easily.

All the garret "play not to lose", "not being prepared" ect throughout the years got old. Especially when Romo had to bail him out so many times. I'll give garret credit for changing the culture of this team after wade, but as an in game person he left alot to be desired.

You have it backwards. McCarthy wasn't involved in Green Bay, but he is in Dallas. He had no input in Green Bay so you can't blame him for that.
