We’ve had one of the best (if not the best) value in the league over the past 4 years in Dak. Same people loving on Opie didn’t like Dak. Any reason why money wasn’t a factor from 2016-2019?

Coming out of 2016, Dak's contract was the most valuable in the league.

Too bad we wasted that deal on the Garrett/Linehan/Marinelli regime. I feel good about the incoming McCarthy Regime, and this offseason has been stupendous.

This is what happens when your blowup doll springs a leak in the early morning hours.
Here you go. A pic of your man-crush for your bedroom wall. Enjoy.

I agree but it didn’t placate the people who highlight every negative and try to tear down every positive stat or opinion of Dak. So they have been harsh QB critics over the past 4 years but now all of a sudden see value and potential in a worse QB making at minimum 75% for one year what Dak made in 4 years total. That makes absolutely zero sense to me.

You're talking Dalton?

You have to make the proper comparisons and be clear on just what you're judging.

Dak was of course a fantastic deal on his rookie contract. That didn't make him a fantastic QB on all those years, though I'd put him easily top ten as a QB, top 5 for young franchise QBs to sign to a long term contract.

As for Dalton, comparing what he'd make *this* year with what Dak made *in previous years* is an irrelevant comparison.

Dalton + Trade value of Dak + 31.4mil > Dak

That's the relevant comparison if you think it's time to move on from Dak.

Dalton + Trade value of Dak + 31.4mil >? Dak this year + chance to resign Dak next year

That's the relevant comparison if you think you might be able to sign Dak to an acceptable deal next year.

I am talking about people who have ragged on Dak for 4 years even while he was making $465k a year now getting a QB hard on for Dalton because he is cheap. Money obviously isn’t the factor for those people.

Denying Dak as a value proposition on his rookie contract is delusional. Not seeing his flaws during that time would be too. As would not seeing his big jump in performance last year.

I like Dalton as a way to save a whole lotta cap. He's not as good a value proposition as Dak was as a rookie, but really damn good. Also a guy with a lot of upside relative to recent stats. The Bengals stunk. That's not all on Dalton.

Take Dak out of the equation. Just say we need a QB and don't have one. Dalton for his 3mil LTE is 10-20mil underpriced. You build a winner with players who are worth more than their salary.

I am not debating what you are saying. You are being sensible. The posters who I am referring to have been anything but sensible over the past 4 years and I am talking about their hypocrisy.

There was a poll on youtube from First Take or one of those shows that asked if Dak would be here next year. There were 30,000 votes and 85% said he wouldn't be here next year. That tells me there are alot of dumb people out there..........

Even Tad and Dak know he's roadkill come the next offseason for numerous reasons from the cap to his inadequacies at the position.
Keep the faith as you and the 15% will need every ounce of it when Dak stinks it up once again this coming season.

He hasn't stunk it up yet...We had the number 1 offense. IF Dak played linebacker you would have a valid point. By the way, is Mahomes any good or does he suck too?

Comparing Mahomes to Dak is an insult to the game....
