Very disappointed in the coaching

Anyone who thinks Dak was the reason we lost last night has a few screws loose. Very disappointed in the coaching on both sides of the ball. Rams HC had a great game plan on offense and defense. His play calling nullified any chance for our pass rush and we couldn't stop them. They only stopped themselves. As for their defense our offense looked just as predictable as they did last year. Shocked and disappointed.

Having said that it is only 1 game. We got ambushed by an offense we weren't prepared for. Coaches need to step up and make sure that doesn't happen again. Dak had a fabulous 1st half. Cee Dee looked great, Zeke looked great, Pollard as well. Losing Jarwin hurts badly as Shultz dropped 2 passes.

Last year we started out 3-0 and looked what happened. We'll see how this team handles some adversity. I'm expecting better going forward.

To me McCarthy looked like a scam.

I never bought into his analytics crap.

These older coaches that have done things their way for so long will always go back to what they know. It's just how it is.

The problem here though is Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre are not walking through that door to play QB here.

Sean McVay has a garbage QB and he can make him look good by simply calling and offense that has the defense completely on their heels.

McCarthy even admitted that he was saying things just to get hired and he really didn't watch all of what he said he did.

The problem with the NFL is that it's a good ole boys league and Dallas chose McCarthy to get one of their good ole boys back in football. I hope it works out for us but he did nothing to change my mind as of now.

And please.. Don't be the fan who says that these coaches know so much more than we do. BS..

Football is football and once you learn it you can certainly question these guys who do moronic stuff like not kicking a field goal on 4th and 3 to tie the game late.

I'm disappointed all the way around as well, but, I'm not quite in meltdown mode like some folks around here (fire McCarthy threads already? Seriously?) It is a new coaching staff put in place and it was their first NFL game together this season with this team (not even a preseason game). Let's hope some things/plans come together. We are thin at some positions though. May be time to pick up the phone and make some calls for anybody that can help.

I'm willing to give them at least a few games.

I am not ready to toss the coaching staff in the fire. Nolan was a dubious choice and last night was not inspiring. I think McVey had a great game plan to eliminate Dallas’s pass rush. Guy is a very good coach. Dallas was terrible on third downs. Tacking was terrible especially in the first half. The Rams offensive game plan was set up to challenge the LBs. 54 was terrible, again. Shultz has a few bad drops. Loss can be chalked up to McVey’s greatness, a missed kick, a bad 4th down call, poor tackling, and a bad OPI call. I think you have to give these coaches time.

Dallas was outcoached. Not even the koolaid drinking fans could argue that. I am disappointed in McCarthy. He didn't prepare his team well enough for this game. Sorry but I am not accepting excuses this year from anyone.

The only thing to really complain about was not being more aggressive downfield. It's not like Dallas struggled to move the ball.

Exactly, just could not figure the one out. No deep shots until the very end, then a cheap OPI call.

Gotta give the coaches a chance to make the right changes throughout the year including benching players when needed.

Will MM take over playcalling, will Moore put us in better position, will anyone hold Dak accountable for a lack of execution or do we just blame playcalling, then only praise Dak when he finally does right?

I'm completely fine with the 4th down attempt, it just further exposed Dak and would put us in the lead.

I will say our defensive coaching has been very disappointing and MM will definitely get the blame for replacing our perfect kicker with David Buehler.

No Dak wasn't the reason we lost, he played his usual bus driver role. But Dak isn't the guy who you can lean on to win the game by driving you down the field. It's not a personal slight against Dak - he is what he is.
The deep 4th quarter throw with the game on the line was pretty sweet. He missed those last year.

Outcoached? It was a 3 point win and the Cowboys made the needed adjustments. What they failed to do was execute. Can't blame the coaching staff for lack of execution especially by the offense.

IMO, this is something that both the pro and anti Dak people can get on board with. Dallas was badly outcoached last night. The game plan, the in game decisions, etc. all were blatantly in McVay's favor. If anything, the fact that Dallas was even in that game is the only glimmer of hope that I have for the season.

Dallas' coaches got owned last night and despite that, the team was a bad PI call from potentially winning.

 During his four-year career, Prescott has eight fourth-quarter comebacks and fourteen game-winning drives.

Dude we spent the first 2 quarters chasing their offense around because their gameplan was something we clearly weren't prepared for.

We also turned down a FG.

Our coaching was very poor.

Yes. McCarthy essentially told the Joneses that he scammed them when they did his hiring presser. His media campaign with Peter King seemed really shallow. I can't point to a single thing I saw last night that tells me McCarthy has improved this team.

Nope, outcoached. What adjustments did they make? The dink and dunk game plan was bad. That never changed. It is only when Dak is forced to change does it change. That is coaching. Why did we not run screens? Everyone knows that to slow down a pass rush you throw screens. Apparently not the wise one McCarthy or over rated Kellen Moore. Zeke and Pollard could have each have had big games receiving had they been featured more on passing downs. It points back to lack of preparation which is COACHING. They had a better plan then we did. We got outcoached.

Not sure I could be any more disappointed in the coaching. I am also not defending Dak either. Having a good first half doesnt mean a whole lot when all you can score is 3 points in the 2nd half.
