2020 was supposed to be a new era for the Dallas Cowboys but, in Week 1, Mike McCarthy’s tenure began in a similar way to how Jason Garrett left things.

DALLAS — If the debut result at SoFi Stadium is to be believed, and seeing is believing, then you were fooled and hoodwinked by the Dallas Cowboys. If you bought into the hype, as most observers of the team did, then the Mike McCarthy era had an inauspicious beginning.

All summer, without seeing a single snap from the Cowboys on either side of the ball, there was an outpouring of optimism for the perpetually optimistic franchise. The organization had brought in talent and changed the majority of the coaching staff, which was supposed to be one of the biggest problems that led to an 8-8 season without a playoff appearance for Dallas in 2019.

I need to see more of a sample size before writing it off. We have played one game against a defense including Donald and Ramsey supported by a pre season without any games.
Nobody’s writing it off just reporting after week 1 results.

This summation helps reflects my thoughts.!

Oh, I don't know, I guess I am not one to panic after a in loss week 1.
Just as if we won, I would not be planning any trips to Miami.

This is agenda on full display.

A person who tried to make every excuse in the book for Jason Garrett - for 10 years!

Who now wants to question Super Bowl winning coach Mike McCarthy - after one game.

It sure not hard to spot the person who looks foolish.

Didn't look much different is right. Neither coach seems to understand that at the end of a game if you use your last time out on defense it saves you about 35 seconds and when you use it on Offense it saves you half that because you can hurry. The clock is your biggest enemy at that point.

I've always said as long as Jerry is in charge, a new coach is just a new deck chair on his boat. I was surprised at the hype surrounding MM. He wasn't exactly highly sought after when GB let him go. Anyone that was thinking it was him that made Aaron Rodgers was kidding themselves.

All that said, I don't think he is a terrible coach...and yes, one week is way too early to pass judgement. Especially this season. I'm just saying I never understood the hype in the first place.

I’d argue after one game the fans who thought or blamed most of our issues coaching related look like they had had an agenda. As we looked much same in 1st game as last year.

Never seen so many people step up to the ledge so early in the season.

“The fourth-and-three play failed as rookie WR CeeDee Lamb ran a route that was short of the first down marker, another Garrett staple that fans of the team hated.

Weren’t we told how good the Cowboys’ receivers were in the open field this summer? Perhaps the offensive hype train needs a tune-up.

Even after the failed fourth down try, Prescott and the offense had two more attempts to drive the field to either tie or win the game late in the fourth quarter. Both drives stalled and on both possessions there were too many short passes that saw Rams defenders squatting on the short passing game.
If you watch a replay of that, he couldn't get any further down the field, he had players where he wanted to go and had to go parallel down the line until he could move up the field.
