What’s the dead money hit if we cut him this off season??

We need to get out from under the Dlaw and Jaylon contracts... at least 30-35 mill tied up on ZERO production

That's not true. You can argue that they aren't living up to their deals but you can't say they are giving zero production.

Lawrence is a middle of the road DE. He isn't special and he doesn't have the speed or explosiveness that you see in an elite pass rusher. His entire contract is based on one season where he wracked up over half his sacks against the Giants (who the Cowboys played twice) and the Detroit Lions (think it was Patricias first season and they were awful).

Only an idiot coordinator tries to run a 3 4 defense with guys who are strictly 4 3. Beliche K could do both because he had guys to operate both styles. I can't stand our defensive coordinator. I think he's the worst coach on the field for us and that's saying a lot after watching Fatboy calls today. :).

wow we signed Dlaw to a huge Aaron Donald like contract.
He has been trash since signing that deal.

Cowboys, DeMarcus Lawrence agree to $105M deal
Published: Apr 05, 2019 at 11:48 AM

The Dallas Cowboys and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence agreed Friday to terms on a five-year, $105 million extension with $65 million in guarantees, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported, per sources informed of the deal.

That's the most guaranteed money ever for a non-quarterback. Lawrence's contract will include the highest first-year payout for a non-QB, sources tell Rapoport and Garafolo. The previous record for a defensive player was Khalil Mack's $31 million bill in 2018. Lawrence, Mack and Aaron Donald are the only three defensive players averaging more than $20 million per season.

This is why Jerry has to sign a real GM. Jerry makes dumb deals with no fear because he isn't going to fire himself.

btw i see there is no more "HOT BOYS" talk. He must see he is trash.

Didn't he have labrum surgery after he signed the contract. I wonder if a injury altered the way lawrence plays because he don't even look aggressive out there. Some of the pass rushes he look like he was just going through the motions today.

Jerry has numbers guys though and if I'm not mistaken Stephen is one of the numbers guys.......you have to be careful looking at some of these contracts because some of them they can get out from under it.......

POTENTIAL OUT: 2022, 3 YR, $65,016,747; $19,000,000 DEAD CAP

They can get out from under it in 2022.

Those are still crazy numbers. $20 million a year for a average player.

From TV it looks like everyone is playing out of position. I don't like how they are playing Everson Griffen either. This defense as a whole is rough to watch. And I'm not even sure if its the players fault. I hope this is just part of the journey we need to field a good defense at some point.
Yeah it looks like they draw straws for the DL. There is no rhyme or reason. But D-Law in a two point stance is jst bad to watch he looks like, a guy that is used to coming out of a 3 point stance.

He doesn't need to talk - his website does the talking. Get your Hot Boyz t-shirt for the low, low price of $35. :muttley:

It is man I have no idea what these guys are doing honestly. I like what the corners are doing. That's about it.

too bad he can't stop smoking the lettuce lol. Imagine a healthy David Irvin and Randy Gregory on the dline.

The lettuce doesn't mean much in the NFL now.

Too bad about Irving, though. We could have really used him this year.

I bet Everson Griffen and Randy Gregory can get pressure in this system, DLaw just doesn’t seem to always want it..

He is not our best pass rush. He is now average at best.

Was he ever really great? Maybe
Those are still crazy numbers. $20 million a year for a average player.

I would love for him to be just average right now. He is flat out invisible. And makes zero impact. You could throw an undrafted spare off the street to take his spot and there would be no difference at all.

Dude got his contract based off one good year where he had inflated sack totals on junk teams. 2018 maybe? Not sure the year. I think it was that year because that is when Jaylon had his fluke season and got a big extension as well.

That is this front office being ignorant. Giving guys huge deals based off one season. DLaw got an Aaron Donald type deal. And is non existent.
