Basically a
I bet Everson Griffen and Randy Gregory can get pressure in this system, DLaw just doesn’t seem to always want it..
position change in a shortened off season when he has hardly rushed from a stand up, its not about want but relearning how to rush.

Hes average at best. One good contract year and Jerry went full hard on
As he has with so many others in the past.

D-Laugh is too busy tweeting about his toys and making boasts about what’s to come, but does nothing on game day.

Yeah I think Dak and Zeke are better among other guys. All the receivers are as well.
Thought we were talking about just on the defensive side. Whole team then yes just about every offensive starter is better than every defensive starter lol

Oh on defense....ehhh....through two weeks I can't argue Aldon is better. Not really like anyone is lighting it up over there....YET. The secondary is going to get better as the game goes by. This defensive line might be what it is.

DLaw is pretty obviously hurt, since he only played 28 snaps last night.

I just looked at a few more clips and they werent in a 3-4 in most situations. There’s two tackles and then they’re standing up the ends for whatever reason, but its not a 3-4
Exactly. I don't know how people can't see we are playing most downs with 2 DT's.

28 snaps from DLaw. Is he hurt or did he get benched? Either way, we are paying $20M for a run-stopper with a loud mouth. His pass-rush was non-existent yesterday.

Lawrence couldn't get pressure last year in the 4-3. He can't get pressure in the 3-4 this year.
Nothing to do with scheme. He needs to pull splinters out of his rear end.
I would like to see Anae at least get some reps in place of Lawrence.
Anae wa such a game changer at Utah. I'm not saying he is ready to be a starter. But being a huge Utah fan I've been looking to see him get some snaps. I know he can make plays.

he cost too much so why risk injury sending him toward the QB...

Gregory is a better fit for a 3-4 looks than DLaw. Probably just better as a 4-3 DE too.

Your right. This would be very interesting to see when Gregory finally plays. Would they really bench a guy making 20 mil a year but providing very average passrush on the outside? Stay tuned.

wow we signed Dlaw to a huge Aaron Donald like contract.
He has been trash since signing that deal.

Cowboys, DeMarcus Lawrence agree to $105M deal
Published: Apr 05, 2019 at 11:48 AM

The Dallas Cowboys and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence agreed Friday to terms on a five-year, $105 million extension with $65 million in guarantees, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported, per sources informed of the deal.

That's the most guaranteed money ever for a non-quarterback. Lawrence's contract will include the highest first-year payout for a non-QB, sources tell Rapoport and Garafolo. The previous record for a defensive player was Khalil Mack's $31 million bill in 2018. Lawrence, Mack and Aaron Donald are the only three defensive players averaging more than $20 million per season.

This is why Jerry has to sign a real GM. Jerry makes dumb deals with no fear because he isn't going to fire himself.

That's why I hate all of this, "Next Guy Up" stuff. Some things are so dumb on the surface of it all that we really shouldn't need to have major conflict over them, as fans.

But we still will...........

Maybe just rotating DLaw out more, and more often on passing downs. He does give pretty good run defense. Gregory, Smith, and Griffen look like a good DE rotation by themselves.

Lawrence was a 5-sack guy last season. His problems pre-date the scheme change.

Moreover, you don't make big-picture scheme decisions based on preserving the ability of a guy to continue to eke out 5 measly sacks in a season.
