“One more thing, we heard about Jaylon Smith rushing the passer all offseason. DPR this, DPR that. We've heard about it. JJT told us over the summer that "he ain't that dude" which got some side eyes on this forum from some of you. So far, Jaylon has rushed the passer 14 times. No sacks, no hits, no pressures, no hurries, no nothing. Just a guy. We are wasting our time trying to get Jaylon on the QB.”

This is gold right here. It always made me laugh that folks wanted to try and make Jaylon a pass rusher and then posted video of practice reps while at Notre Dame.

Jaylon can be an “effective” pass rusher as can any linebacker, safety or corner if they time the blitz right and go relatively untouched.

Jaylon has zero pass rush moves and is easily stymied the second he’s engaged.

Thanks CC, although none of it was really of interest until you got to Jerry's security guard.

We arent winning this game. SO MUCH would need to go right for us and SO MUCH would have to go haywire for Seattle. It has to be the perfect storm. Not impossible...but what I wanna see is improvement on defense, win lose or draw. I wanna see progress on defense. We are rebuilding that side of the ball and me thinks MM is evaluating it closely.

i mean they are making slight adjustments on defense. Griffen is going back to his original stance (and D-Law is likely too as well, if he plays). Maybe that’ll make some kind of difference ?

Oh yee of so little faith.,
just keeping expectations low. lol ..We all agree we need to see progress on defense, all phases. Im evaluating the coaching because its been sketchy honestly. That said, this isnt a typical NFL SEASON. We gonna have to accept it for what it is...a bit of a throw away year. Nothing is impossible tho.

He rushes the passer like isnt sure which player the QB is.

Good post thanks as always for the recap.

No, we don’t believe this is a good roster because of the Jones. No one here falls for their schtick anymore.

It’s because on paper it is a good starting roster, but lacks depth. The offensive line is good when healthy, atrocious when not healthy. The defense has been a disappointment. Yeah, they lost Byron Jones. But what exactly happened to Tank? How did he go from consistent double digit sacks to a JAG?

And my illusions in camp that we’d have a pass rush were apparently just that, illusions. What we actually saw was bad offensive line play not a good pass rush.

All in all, the Cowboys are going to win the NFC EAST. That’s obvious. But I just don’t see a deep playoff push unless they can get everybody healthy and maybe trade for an impact player on defense.
Giving up already huh. Stay out of my fox hole.

I do like the point you make with Griffen. Wanna see him be dominant. He has it in him.

Honestly? And it hurts to say this because I rooted hard for this guy:
We're wasting our time on Jaylon period.

It's not a good roster.

The safeties are crap, the DL is pieced together, the LBs are either injury prone or not very good.

The corners are nothing special at all.

The OLine needs to be rebuilt.

Other than that its fine....for those of is that are ok w the QB.

The human sphincter has been the launch pad for many a bottle rocket. It's been used to play a trombone. It's supplied pressure to shoot a blowgun and power party horns. And now it can even be used to speak.

Sounds fake as hell. Not saying what you posted was, but “the source said this, then the source said that, and the source couldn’t believe people think that,” stuff.

JJT: "I knew this team was terrible"

The Source AKA A Voice in JJT's head: "Man, you could not be more right"

JJT: "I have told people this for years"

The Source/Voice in JJT's head: "You were correct the whole time"

JJT: "I'm also good looking"

The Source/Voice in JJT's head: "Very!"

The good news is that both tackles can come back and make this line something good again.

More importantly, you don't need to play perfect defense anymore.

Couple of stops....sacks, a turnover in the right spots and theres a shot. It's not impossible, and it looks like they recognized the scheme mistakes in week two, not after the season.

Its almost impossible to believe someone that came back from what he came back from is that unlikable, but he pulled it off.

No one is gonna tell Jerry he was wrong. That includes the staff.

The source he quoted sounds just Like something Glenn Stretch Smith would say.

Not sure why any fan would automatically write off the Cowboys winning this game.

They have to play mistake free. Not impossible. They're good enough to at least hang around and hopefully steal a win. The problem is I don't see this D making stops so the offense will have to keep up.
