How Many Millions did Dak just lose?

Dak won’t get the 40 million he was looking for no matter what. We just have to wait to hear if he will be completely healthy for next season. My guess is the contract that he was offered at the deadline. It was a mistake not to sign it.

+1....but my guess is next year's tag $37M will likely now be his ceiling as oppose to his floor with a deep playoff run.

Yeah, but it wasn't until the infection... that was brutal. Dude basically had to be filleted.

That’s kinda my point though. Many a surgeon has said “there’s no such thing routine surgery”.

Anytime you open the body you introduce the possibility of infection or other unforeseen complications.

Let’s wait to count the chickens until they hatch.

It probably doesn't cost him as much as you think. I guarantee dak had an insurance policy taken out oh him in case of this exact situation. That should offset financial loss quite a bit.

I care 0 about his financial status, just his ability to get back on the field, or if it is even worse than assumed not have a lifetime of complications.

I think he bet on himself because he knew there wasn't much risk. If he played well he could increase his value. If he got hurt? He wouldn't lose or increase it.

Not gonna lie, I mean I have said a 100 times, I think Dallas the most valuable franchise in sports should have their Brady, Brees, Mahomes, etc...

So I am not going to pretend that I didn't want another QB several times. But, I wouldn't wish that way of exiting a team on anyone.
Which is why I changed my joke avatar, out of respect.

But, I also don't think we will see some massive drop off in the offense from Dalton either. I mean this offense is frigging stacked.

But, yeah... already been there and done that... so wouldn't wish that on anyone:

Dak bet on himself he turned down a four year deal worth an estimted 120+ million most of which was garanteed, Dak bet he would not have a serious injury and play well. How many millions did he just loose ? And if Andy Dalton plays well could this be the end of Prescott in Dallas ?
I don't think Dalton or Prescott will be in Dallas next year unless either wants to be a backup... I just can't see Jerry giving Dak a contract so the only feasible way for him to stay in Dallas would be as a backup. Of course Dak won't want to be a backup so hence he won't be in Dallas next year.

Bingo!!!!!! ......Nailed it

In other words, as long he avoided a career threaten injury his value between $35-39M is secured.

Honestly, he is built sturdy... didn't really expect that kind of injury for him either.
I mean I honestly thought he was bullet proof as far as injury goes after Chaz Green.

Basically how I saw it. I said it in the offseason. I guess if Dalton goes on and is one of the best quarterbacks in the league......maybe they re-think that approach but at that point if Dalton plays that well he will be the one asking for Mahomes money lol.

There's a lot of ways this could play out but one of them is not Dak being a backup lol.

He’s not going to be franchised so that’s 38 million right there.

I really have no idea what Dak can do now but sign a minimum contract and try to rehab back next season. Dalton will be our starter possibly through next year if we don’t draft a QB.

LOL ....so true

Let's be honest, Dalton would probably have to reach the NFCCG min for Jerry to consider giving him the team and you're right if he makes guess how much he wants.
