I don’t care whether he’s worth the money or not right now. The guy’sbrother committed suicide not too long ago and He was dealing with the depression over that. Now there is this devastating injury. Just on a human level I wish him nothing but the best

Yeah on a human level, hope dude is ok.

As a player, hope he finds a new team. It would be good for him.

But...but...Dalton is going to steal Dak's job and/or Jerry will draft Clemson Barbie.

Jerry Jones is sold on Dak and Dak's career is not over. It doesn't matter what any of us think about it.
Yep. I have said the same thing on this forum many times since November 2016.

Think we all have heard this same song and dance before when Romo got hurt...what else is Jerry gonna say? ....Face it man....Dak is done. Wouldn't shock me to see him slip into a deep depression...and never be the same. It's a bad break for sure.
^^^This will NEVER happen! Dak will be STARTING for a team in 2021. The only question is, will it be for the Cowboys?

Dalton is a free agent next year. Can't see us franchising him. Not worth that much, but that puts him in the open market.

He'll probably put up some numbers this year with our bad D and great WRs.

The free agent market will want to overpay. Will Jerry?

He will still be cheaper than Dak because injury or not Dak already proved he wants overpaid

It is a business first and foremost. Loyalty can and should be part of the business. Business is a higher priority than loyalty.
It is usually all about making money. Now in Jerry's case (and some others), he has enough money that that he can be a little more loyal with players as long as they are productive and playing well.
As long as they are playing well.....thanks for making my point.

But Jerry said the same thing....and then everyone was shocked he was retiring. Wouldn't shock me if this turns out to be the same case.

I don't see Dak playing if he can't run. He's only dangerous if he can run....he's just not accurate enough to be a straight drop back QB.
Honestly that is just the stupidest post. Dak is not a running threat. What have you been smoking.

If he has a similar injury to Gordon Hayward and Hayward can come back and play basketball then Dak can definitely come back to the level he was playing at with it.

For Dak's sake I hope Dalton proves that Dak is as good as his fans thinks he is. For Dallas sake I hope Dalton shows Jerry that we don't need to pay Dak 35-40 million.

Dak's agent should be hiding in a bunker right now for his bad advice - stupid idiot!

Let's be real here... 31 million should set him up for life. The blinding greed of players, these days, is killing the game. I like Dak. I really do, but it's this mentality of "I have to be the highest paid" that has really turned me off of him. Does he really think he's one of the best in the game??? Why isn't 31 mil every year for 5 years enough? Why does he have to gamble to get another even higher payday after 4 years? I see Dez and others say, "Take care of the man. You better pay him." That's bull crap. Dak has been paid. 31.2 million for 1 year. In 2 games he will make more than all but a few fans will ever see in their lifetime. He's been paid. Now he can come back and prove he's worth what he's asking. Don't get me wrong. I feel bad for him breaking his ankle. I'm sure that hurts like crazy but I DON"T feel bad for him financially. Not in the slightest.

sad part is they offered him more than 31 million a year and he wouldnt sign. Over 110 million guaranteed and wouldnt sign

I dont feel bad for him at all on the money issue. Matter of fact on the money issue I feel the opposite. This is what you get for being greedy. These agents were using Kirk Cousins as an example to bet on yourself. Well maybe now the players will use Dak as an example to take a fair offer deal cause things can go wrong.

You know a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush

now as far as the injury goes I feel bad for Dak. I hate seeing players get hurt even if they arent on my team. I know the team really respects Dak and he seems to be a great leader. I hope him the best in his recovery.

Jerry wanted Dak to sign a five year contract and Dak wanted four. They couldn’t come to an agreement so they had to sign him to the tag. Jerry wants Dak to be a Cowboy for a long time. You think your petty comments hurt Dak?

The Joneses are now presented with a gift and I am not making light of Prescott's injury but let's reduce this down to what it is, the business of football. They will pay Dalton his max of 7M now but they will get to look at this team with a different QB to better ascertain Prescott's value to their team.

This is the best set of skill position players Dalton has had and he was just looking for a soft place to land before moving on but now is his chance and they could not find a more motivated QB as he was dumped and this is home to him.

The questions are can Dalton seize this opportunity because he's going to have to score with this defense? He is more of a pocket QB behind a very suspect OL and will see many 8 man boxes to force the game into his hands, can he not panic under pressure and make mistakes? If he does show he can do that, how much does he want when this team was willing to pay Prescott 31.4M just for this season? And the most important question for fans is the difference great enough to allow more money to the D side of the ball?

The Joneses story has always been they need to be able to build the team around their QB and Prescott was too expensive to do that. Now, they get to see if Dalton is a more affordable option.

Yep. All the injury affected is the size and terms of the contract.

My comments are not petty and they are not meant to cast Dak in a negative light. You're missing the point though. If Jerry wanted Dak here long-term he could've signed him to a 4-year deal which is few years longer than 1, then extended him later. When they go back to the bargaining table do you think Jerry will magically now be ok with only 4 years? The deal presented to Dak will probably be the same 5-year deal (though if Dalton plays lights out I would hope they would be smart enough to present a much smaller dollar amount).

Lol. And how does Jerry know he would have signed the extension? Your comments are clearly meant to shine a negative light on Dak by implying that Jerry didn’t want him long term despite the facts proving otherwise. Just man up and admit it dude. It’s OK.

Omg man shut up. You sat here with a straight face saying Kellen Moore was better than Romo. You’re an idiot. Stop pretending to know what you’re talking about lol
