Well, my Bournemouth Cherries are in this league for the season, So, may as well post about this league. This is the league that is right under the Premier League. Hopefully, we'll be promoted back into the Premier League next season, but, until then, this thread will be about that league. Currently, we're 3rd in this league ahead of Swansea. If we can finish 1 or 2, we are assured promotion into the Premier League. At this spot, if the season were to end today, we'd be entered into a 4 game playoff with the winner of that playoff being the 3rd team promoted into the Premier League. The bottom 3 get relegated into English Football League One.

Current table:

# Team Pl W D L F A GD Pts Last 6
1 Bristol City 4 4 0 0 8 2 6 12
2 Reading 4 4 0 0 7 1 6 12
3 Bournemouth 4 3 1 0 8 4 4 10
4 Swansea City 4 3 1 0 5 1 4 10
5 Luton Town 4 3 0 1 5 2 3 9
6 Blackburn Rovers 4 2 1 1 11 3 8 7
7 Watford 4 2 1 1 2 1 1 7
8 Queens Park Rangers 4 1 2 1 6 5 1 5
9 Birmingham City 3 1 2 0 2 1 1 5
10 Middlesbrough 4 1 2 1 4 4 0 5

Some of those teams were in the Premier just a few years ago. Sheffield Wednesday has fallen fast though.

That some have. Sheffield is in serious trouble.

My team, Sunderland, have fallen very quickly and down into League one. Hopefully we can escape up into the Championship this season.

I think Bournemouth are going to be ok this season, you've had a solid start and I can see you in the top 2 this season.

I certainly hope we finish in the top 2.

Is Sunderland Till I Die hard viewing as a fan? Great viewing as a neutral but must be infuriating. As a Celtic fan I thought Martin Bain came across about how I would have expected from his time over the city, especially the bit about the cryo chamber.
Surely this year, far too big a club for that level.

Yeah it was pretty shocking to watch how the club was being ran, it was no surprise as we were dead on the pitch so we all knew there must have been some serious mismanagement off the pitch. Bain was pretty useless, I'm guessing he was handsomely paid for being uninspiring and incompetent.

The staff behind the scenes and the fans who are in it are the stars of the show, I suppose they are the real heartbeat of any football club.

I havent brought myself to be able to watch the second series, im waiting until the right moment to watch it, maybe if we get promoted.

This has to be the season it happens, we've started the season pretty well, we haven't scored many goals but our defending has been watertight so I'm cautiously optimistic. Theres talk of new investment/owners so we might have a brighter future again.

Its still not the same sitting at a laptop watching all our games. Strange times.

What would you do if you found out Jerry Jones bought Sunderland?

I would be delighted, ecstatic in fact.

I know he has his critics but he is passionate and has built so much, the final piece missing, and the most important part, is success on the pitch and that will surely come.

True haha. And he's got the pockets to help Sunderland I suppose. It'd be real circularity, wouldn't it? Taking another team that is a big club but seems to need financial help I could actually see him running Sunderland well.

It would be perfect, my two favourite sports teams with the same owner lol. There's already some American investors put money into Sunderland, FPP who are Glen Fuhrman, John Phelan and Robert Platek, invested £10m around a year ago so you never know they might know Jerry.

There's quite a bit of crossover between the North East of England and Scottish football, a few of my friends follow Sunderland and also Celtic or Rangers and regularly make the trip North to watch games.

It looks like is going to be competitive season this year with Rangers looking quite strong now.

Yes, and there are several teams in the PL owned by NFL owners, so Sunderland would be a good fit for Jerry given that they're a big club hurting for the money Jerry could provide. I'd love for him to own Bournemouth, tbh, but we're far too small for his liking.

There are rumours of an announcement in the next couple of weeks so will know soon enough but I'm prepared to be underwhelmed ha ha. Its been a good start in the Championship for Bournemouth, look set for a good season!

Thank you. Shame we drew with QPR though. We should've won that one. Hopefully, we'll be back in the PL next season. We shall certainly see for Sunderland.

So 5/6 games in and Bournemouth are 1 of only 2 unbeaten teams. I thought they'd struggle post relegation but they are doing a good job. Got to think the two teams currently above them in the league won't keep it up either so all good so far.

I certainly hope so. It'd be nice to be back in the PL next season.
