Why Wouldn't You Start DiNucci?

Give the kid a chance to learn and grow and get some much needed experience. At this point in the season and with your record at 2-6 why not see what DiNucci can do, actually he should start until Dalton is able to come back. Put it this way I've see a lot worse at quarterback for the Cowboys in their first start than DiNucci i.e. Quincy Carter who threw for all of 34 yards in his first start in the NFL against Tampa Bay. I would also keep Terence Steele at right tackle (yes I know he bad) and see what he can do for the rest of the season no reason to go fishing at this point as start moving Zack Martin to right tackle plus Steele is learning and gaining a ton of experience out there, now if the Cowboys were decent and still in the hunt then yes I would have benched Steele weeks ago but since it's a lost cause keep his but out there for the remainder of the season.

DiNucci was bad and should've had multiple passes picked off. He holds the ball too long and isn't accurate. He could be serviceable somewhere down the line but everyone, including the coaching staff, knows he isn't ready. Playing a QB who is as raw as he is this early could ruin him. Add that to the fact the O-line can't protect or open running lanes and he doesn't have anything to lean on. Tackle is not a position where you want to play someone who isn't ready just to get experience because it can lead to your QB getting injured. See our team for proof of that.

I get what your saying but I'm not even convinced hes an NFL QB. I honestly don't like his throwing motion at all. In honesty I've seen Cooper Rush
especially his last few games he played and not impressed. We are going to struggle with Pittsburgh anyway so I would rather see Garrett Gilbert.

He's not ready for the speed, complexity or athleticism of the NFL. He needs to be groomed first.

I start him again after steeler game. Whoever starts that game is more a sacrificial lamb than qb. If a line were drawn in the sand for qb volunteers to cross, i suspect all footprints would be on just one side.

Jerry and his his keen eye for talent have determined that one of the other two stiffs will make for a slightly smaller blowout loss.

Why do you draft a kid like DiNucci? You do it because you see something there that you think you might be able to develop right? What is the point of throwing the kid in and simply letting him drowned? You are just wasting money and resources. You throw that kid out there now and you'll ruin him. That's not the right way to develop a QB.

It would be difficult for any QB to be successful behind this offensive line, especially a rookie.

I doubt DiNucci will ever amount to anything. The team got exactly what it paid for when it used a 7th round pick on a QB no other team wanted. The GM continues his underinvestment in this important position!

I bet some people desperately want that to be Cooper.

If the oline was heathy it might be a different situation
He can’t learn if he’s pressured constantly

He can't play.

Big Mike probably knew it.
