Not going for it on 4th and inches and the refs is all the recap you need for this one..

ref and officials went both ways … lewis hand-grapped a Steelers WR while being beaten to help prevent a TD , but the zebras did not call it cuz they missed it.

4th and inches was under McCarthy's control, ..something he could have handle and should've had the guts to go for the throat off a mere inch.
Not 4th and one ...but 4th and inches. ..wow!.....

It is not what they called and didn't call. It is the inconsistency that bothers people. That roughing call on Jaylon Smith was technically the correct call. His hand grazed the facemask as he tried to swat at the pass. You see that all the time in the NFL. Guy swats at ball and misses, then his hand grazes the QBs head. But later TJ Watt speared Gilbert with his helmet as Cam Heyward was sacking him. No call. Either you protect QBs or you don't. Gilbert is as valuable to the Cowboys right now as Ben is to the Steelers. Every QB is valuable to his own team.

The non-PI calls could be a beef, but they didn't call them on either team. The Illegal contact call on Jaylon occurred 6 yards from the LOS. Contact like that occurs on almost every play and you could see the Steelers making contact even farther downfield. Why call it on Jaylon? Because Claypool lost his balance and fell down?

Totally agree, but the teams with a great record always get the "benefit of the doubt" on close calls. Its like the baseball superstars getting a smaller strike zone.

For those who say refs did miss a few calls for the boys , you are correct , it went both ways initially, but tell me how many calls were awarded to stealers with game on line , like Turnovers , or 4th down etc...? It has been again and again in favor of some special teams ( for Commish or not I dont know )

Anyone watching recent Stealers SBs ( one vs Holmgrens Seahawks and Cardinals) can see that Stealers are protected species.

Then watched the NO and TB game and Cameron Jordan hits pretty boy in the face mask and not one flag. All asking for is being consistent with calls. H--- you could flag every play if wanted too. Just be consistent. Should not be hard.

I have said it before, but the refs pick and choose when they want to throw the flags

Besides from their horrific fan base, this is the other reason why I can't stand Poopsburgh. Doesn't matter who they're playing, they're bound to get a call that either kills the other team's momentum or one to keep their final attempt to tie/win the game. It's ridiculous. I will refrain from posting anything about politics but they get the same treatment as the people who wake up on the left side of the bed, whose car is parked in the left side of the garage, who pick their nose w/ their pointer finger on their left hand and who sit on their left hand until it falls asleep so to do their favorite past-time activity...the Stranger.

Sorry...I live in the NE and these fans still haven't shut up. Makes for a poopy mood.:lmao2:

first off you have to be senile..yes refs had a huge hand in the loss..but the CEEDEE fumble INT and the INT in the endzone by GG, were the biggest reason we lost.. lets not forget those plays and once again the offense lend s big hand in losses with TOs its happened with Dak, dalton, Nooch and now Gilbert..33add zeke, shultz and lamb now just giving the other team extra possessions and taking points away from us..all year the offense just made the biggest lays that set the slide in motion..defense was bad now they are finding their way and offense just keeps coughing it up..

the last 2 games made it even worse because our defense finally showed up and the offense truly made the worst mistakes that led to loss..

not going for 4th and inches well that wasnt truly a big deal..
I could be mistaken, but I don't think he's saying the 4th and inches is the whole reason we lost. Rather I think he's saying this is who MM is, and that going for it might have given us what we needed to win the game, regardless of the other mistakes. (Yeah okay, I embellished a bit.) :D

umm NOT earlier in the year with dak at the helm he passed up Fgs and went for it on 4th and a lot of 2point conversions were attempted. Its play by play and game by game decsions caches have to determine when they want to take the risk..it far from what we saw throughout the year..

so please Stop all of you trying to pigeon hole a coach or layer to fit a narrative that fan created..

MM and this staff are working with a mash unit , different players in new situations and they are making millisecond decsions..

Our OL, QB, and RB all were beat up or inexperienced against that defense knowing whats coming, im sure they had their reasons..

On what we needed to win was not throwing an INT in goal to go, penalty's on LVE and JS, taking 15yard sacks, and the penatly on the long KR that moved the ball from inside the 10 to the 30, all players making key mistakes that cost us the game and finally well the officiating seemed bias , was horrible..

coaches were the fartherest thing from why we lost the last 2 games..really looking back at the season the offensive turnovers and Penalty's started the issues, injuries' followed, offensive turnovers continue and poor defense..

the defense finally starts playing well and we cant find enough clean offense..more injuries'..
2020 in nutshell please skip forward to march 2021 we need mulligan
