It was nice to get a 3rd and 5 and feel like you had a decent chance of converting. Dalton was efficient and made some nice throws hitting WRs in stride. People were complaining about the Lamb Matrix catch in the endzone and how he saved Dalton but it was lamb who wasnt quite where he was supposed to be. Dalton was throwing to the corner. Dalton was accurate the other night.
Eye Test Mafia trying build up Dalton below average play.

The TD throw to CeeDee was a below average throw. Dalton’s touch and location was so bad,
Lamb’s mid-air body contortion was Matrixeqsue...Catch was elite. Dalton pass was grade school level.

Evidently you don't realize that ball was in the air before Lamb got there. That's something you Dak lovers aren't familier with.

That doesn't equate to Lamb being out of position and Dalton being spot on.

It's funny, The Dak haters are silent for weeks. The absolute first opportunity to prop Dalton up is in a game with a pretty mediocre performance that mirrors past Dak bashings of him "only passing for 200 yards."

The pass to lamb was essentially a jump ball - 50/50. Thrown in a general area where your receiver can make an attempt.

Oh wow Ball in the air phenomenal feat for Andy Dalton!! Any QB in the NFL making more than $3M can make that throw albeit it was harder for Red Rifle because he threw from opposite Hash...the ball died like a wounded duck..... An Elite DB would go up and get the INT.
That pass was supposed to be towards the back pylon going out of bounds...see Kirk Cousins pass to Thielan

Dak Haters are Eye Test Mafia....I see through your skewed vision

Andy was carried by defense turnovers and short field position....

Dak gets carried too.. That’s the problem..

Neither guy carries and they go as the team goes.

Dak wants elite money to do the same thing Dalton can do when everything is optimal.

We can do better than both of these guys.

Really would like to know what this thread means?

He showed that with slot of help he can still get a win in the NFL?

He showed that while the offense isn't nearly as potent with him as it is with Dak, he can at least be a competent backup still in this league?

??

The thing is without Dak this team has looked way diferent...again i get saying "we still lost" but there is no way you can say the offense isn't 100X better with Dak.....every reciever was doing much better when he was in. To me that does show he carried this offense. I'll stand by the fact that no QB has ever carried a team to the superbowl, defense matters, special teams matter, your chances of winning with a JAG at QB go way down since the league has changed the rules to favor scoring though. The question about pay is self answered by the QB market...your not getting a good QB on the cheap...you only other option is to draft and hope, that theory busts way more than hits.

would you be willing to pay Dalton 27 for say... 4years?

If I needed a QB and I didn't have one, yeah, I probably would be willing to do a deal for 27. Now, I don't know that it would need to be 4 years. I don't see why that would have to be the case but yeah, perhaps. If I were a team trying to develop a young QB and needed a guy for a couple of seasons, I would consider it for sure.

Yeah, you don't know this Q. That ball, as a matter of fact, is taught to be thrown in the corner of the endzone, so as to limit the possibility of an INT. That's where that pass was thrown. Now, we don't know if Lamb ran a precise route or not. It could just as easily, be a situation where Lamb didn't run that route exactly right and had to adjust. Great catch, no question. But I don't know that it was a poorly thrown ball, based on what I saw ingame.

Not accurate. There is a clear and obvious difference in their skillsets. Let's just use this season as an example. I'll even toss you a bone and not include the fact that the defense is now playing at a higher level. Prescott was putting up monster numbers and producing at a much higher level. Dalton would be lucky if he puts up half.

exactly everything from stats to watching the games tells you Dak was carrying this offense,

LOL

How did you determine the throw was "grade school level"?

I'm not going to dis Dalton's throw, he even covered for Lamb in the post game by saying he threw it before Lamb's break and Lamb made a great adjustment, that tells me the Rookie WR probably went a little flat on the route...So good on Dalton for sure. My problem is some act as Dak has never made that throw and thats laughable. Again I'm not saying you say that but it has been said on here. There is no reason to bash Dalton as he played a good game.... That doesn't mean he should replace Dak.

I don't subscribe to a player actually carrying the team, but it's not debatable that he contributed WAY more than Dalton is capable of. The offense was on a path to destroy production numbers. Dalton has done a fraction of that.

My comment was about @Qcard mocking the "eye test mafia" then using his eye test skills to determine the quality of the pass.

I find that hilarious.

I prefer an offense that consistently scores points throughout a game, and, most importantly, actually wins the game.

I couldn't care less about fantasy numbers and points scored when the team is chasing games in hopeless situations because the offense is unable to produce points consistently during a game.

All about the team winning and not individuals but that's just the way I view team sport.

If Prescott was healthy and the defense was playing like it has, we would be winning more games. Prescott helped put up WAY more points than Dalton. And not in hopeless situations. That's a myth.
