Cedrick might have blown it (fake punt)

I know everyone is up in arms to take the coaches out behind the barn like Ol Yeller, and I agree there were some questionable calls for sure. But on Twitter in real time I saw several folks asking if Cedrick Wilson was supposed to throw it on that 4th and 10 fake punt and well:

Would we be calling Fassel a genius like after the Atlanta game right now if he had thrown that ball? 29 ain’t blocking for sure.

Hey everyone, have some turkey and pumpkin beer and relax a little!

It was a dumb call
In the first place.

PoorExecution made It worse

Also let’s
Not forget the pass
On 4th and inches when a QB sneak has a 99% chance of converting.

I think it was desperate, not dumb. He knows what team we have on the field at that point.

Just saying, if Ced hits him for 18 yards I think there would be some different tunes being sung.

He was.....Goodwin was wide open on the post corner.....problem was Cedric just didn't see him. Once CJ made his break to the corner...he was wide open. It was a real slow developing play....and the timing was off....that was for sure. if Cedric would have sold the reverse for one more count...I think he would have seen CJ wide open.

There was something screwy about that play...he was 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage on almost a 4th and 10. He has to run almost 25 yards on a slow developing play just to get the first down. 29 did let his man go and went downfield almost looking for a pass from Wilson. Dallas would have probably lost anyway the way they played. Oh well, happy tanks giving....LOL...

Sure. I Agree with you there. The end result is ultimately what matters most. Always is.

Just think it was a totally unnecessary risk at
That point.

It shouldve never been run in the first place

you have momentum you got an interception and 2 stops on D

make the Football team drive 75 yards if they want to score

a fake punt on anything beyond 5 yards is inexcusable

Agree. Especially given it was a one score
Game with like 10
Minutes left to play.

you didn’t HAVE to score that drive. Punt and play defense.

If that's a quarterback that's fine but Cedric Wilson is a receiver. Him missing a wide open guy will happen. If you are gonna go for it on 4th and 10 please put your actual offense out there.....

Yeah after I answered you I realized I sounded like I was more defending MM. It wasn’t a good desperate. Eh man let’s just forget this season.

No. It was the action of a desperate team that thinks it can’t win.

Its also a "great play and gutsy call" if the punter even stands in front of the guy who tackled Wilson. He doesn't even have to make contact, just stop and ask him for directions or something.

Well if Cedric don't have what it takes to throw the damn ball maybe they should've figured that out in practice.

Watch the Oline, that’s how you know Wilson was supposed to throw it. The Oline didn’t cross the line of scrimmage so they wouldn’t get called for illegal man downfield on a pass. If you see the pics that are floating on the web, if Wilson throws the ball it’s probably a touchdown because the only player between our WR and the end zone is the punt returner.

Um, there is ZERO doubt it was a throw. Problem is nobody was open.
