My lasting memory of Kevin Greene will always be the first pass protection play in 1989 of Tony Mandarich's career. Greene rag dolled him. Mandarich's career was basically over right there after all that hype.

I posted this in the NFL zone.

I know he never played for the Cowboys and did spend some time in Pittsburgh, but this one HURTS bad. My wife has been friends with him for years and she is crushed. She can't stop crying. He was a good guy IRL. He really was. He used to say he never held my fandom of the Cowboys against me. My wife's ex-husband even roomed with him during a religious retreat years ago. No cause of death yet, but way too young.

when I was living and working in Florida. A coworker was from Pittsburgh. Said he used to bar tend at a place near Three Rivers Stadium, across the street basically. While he was going to college.

Said Kevin Greene and a few other players would come in the as regulars. Said he was one of the nicest down to earth people you could meet.

Dead at 58.

He caused me much distress as a Steelers great, but he was just a superb player.

Much too young. Goodbye Kevin.

Didn't like him but respected him very much.

Shame he abused his body and ultimately left the world too soon.

RIP
