You people are crazy. Dalton was fine as a backup. Trubisky would be fine as a backup.

He’s supposed to drive the bus for a few games if your starter is hurt

if you’re expecting your backup to lead you to the super bowl ... well, I guess we should go get Nick Foles

jeez

Not every player on the roster can be a Pro Bowler or a future star.

Im fine with Mitch. But he’s not coming for cheap. I’m not sure we want to spend another $3+ mill for a backup

He is Dak lite, very lite.

Similar style QB so get why it's being discussed.

While back-up QB is important, we aren't winning anything without Dak right now. I'd roll with Gilbert.

Spend every available cap dollar on defense. Dak has the weapons; we just need some speed bumps on defense to occasionally slow down opposing offenses.
I would spend it on OLine too not just defense. It may already be too late and the OL is too old to fix.

That's the lamest title I've ever read. The author's poor attempt at click bait.

Just bring back Romo.
:muttley:

Works for me over Mitch. Was not a fan when he was at UNC. I knew da bears had missed up by moving up to draft him, had seen him for almost every game his last year in college. Told my bears neighbor they would regret it.

If the team is looking for a Dak clone for a backup, then look no further than Jacoby Brissett, I'm not sure of his contract status, but he is every bit the same style of QB, carbon copy of Dak imo

I'd roll with Gilbert, too. He was in over his head, but he didn't look hopeless. In this league you need a backup to develop every bit as much as you do one to win a game or two.

he would be solid backup and short term starter , they are just making assumptions on possible moves but younger backup who has had some success starting is not an issue

so the saints get Winston after signing that other backup and people said great move maybe they can fix him..we have a hypothetical and this place loses its mind..Rg3 backing up Lamar etc etc it happens.

what IF dak get the Tag and then proceeds to hold out..we better have plan, what IOF dak has setback with his ankle..umm we better have solid backup not named nooch or GG..

LMAO! I aint clickin on no story that tries to convince me that the Cowboys would sign Trubisky. Dude is absolute garbage except for a handful of games every year. His career QBR is below room temperature... in Boston.. in January.. His career passer rating is great.. for the 1980's. In today's passer friendly NFL it's decidedly below average.

"Iron Man" NFL QBs of in the 21st century
Philip Rivers - 15 seasons___started every game = entire career

Tom Brady- 1st yr took over injured Drew Bledsoe in 3rd game--started the remaining 14 games
2008 - only 1 start (end of season injury); 2016- 12 starts (suspended 4 games)
17 seasons___started every game

Russell Wilson- 9 seasons___started every game = entire career so far

Dak Prescott- 1st 4 seasons___started every game, plus 1st 5 of 2020; hope he returns 100% and gets back on the iron man track

Would rather Jerra and friends draft UNC's current QB.

But, but, but Mitch has never had a RB like Zeke. He might be able to finally open running lanes open for Zeke and unleash Gallup’s full potential the way Andy Dalton was supposed to.
