The best DT ever and the best CB in the league can't get it done

The Cowboys traded a third round pick a year earlier for Drew Henson and Romo was starting to turn heads in 2005 plus many weren’t sold on Aaron Rodgers which is why he dropped in the draft. It’s easy to look back now and say it was a blunder not drafting Rodgers but it made some sense at the time.

And guess whose fraudulent coaching arse passed over Rodgers for Alex Smith because he thought Rodgers wouldn't take to coaching because he questioned being asked to pass a football through his legs like a basketball?

Mike Nolan.

Great defense still beats Rogers. SF’s D last year dominated Rogers offense.

It takes a great pass rush to beat him. You can’t give him time to throw or he’ll shred you. The teams/defenses that have beaten him when the Packers have been really good put a lot of pressure on him. They really got after him.

I never thought Mike Nolan was a good coach but 22 other teams passed on Aaron Rodgers and a few of those teams ended up with busts. I’m sure Washington was ready to pounce on Rodgers at number 24 but they ended up with Jason Campbell at number 25. At least Marcus Spears ended up being a pretty good player for us.

Oh, that's not a rip on the Cowboys. They, along with all the other teams passed on Rodgers. I was just pointing out that Nolan has been fraud of a coach for a long time. Living in the Bay Area, I was here for his whole tenure with the 49ers. He was caught up in wearing suits on the sidelines, the "smell of the locker room," and other bits of nonsense including his reasoning for passing on Rodgers ultimately.

And we drafted Marcus Spears instead of Aaron Rodgers. Biggest player related blunder in Cowboy history.

Passing on Randy Moss was the Cowboys biggest draft blunder. That blunder came back to haunt us just 7 months later on Thanksgiving when he torched us. That blunder haunted us even more the following year when we lost Michael Irvin to a career ending injury. Passing on Moss resulted in another huge blunder 2 years later with Jerry giving up two first round picks for Joey Galloway. Passing on Moss ended up crippling the franchise with everything that transpired after.

I think Donald is a great player, but he is seriously overhyped.

Ramsey has been good, but for costing the Rams a 1st rounder (not sure if anything else was part of that deal) and a massive contract extension, he just isn't worth it.

Rams defense got carved up by Rogers today.

Can't stand Rogers but was glad to see the Rams lose haha

I don't see how the Rams can get any better next year.

Edit: 2 1st round picks lol
AD is not overhyped that for sure, you do realize he also played hurt, he would have missed 2 reg season games but this game was meant too much, he played through it,

Ramseys a bit hyped but when you come up against the Packers and rogers as hot as they are, its hard to win especially on the road..

the real moral t this is those years we had great teams and rogers killed our runs its not as bad as it seemed as it happens to many teams..

The media builds these players up to be gods when they're only human.

Great offenses beat great defenses.
wasn't the issue the Packers played better in all phases they brought a strong run game, a HOF qb on fire throwing to one of the best WRs in the league, and very good defense...add in coaching at home and that why they beat the rams they were just too good a TEAM not an offense a TEAM..

It's the recipe to beat all great QBs. Time-tested.

It’s the only way to contain a great QB which is why edge rusher’s are the second most coveted position in the draft next to the QB.

Dude, the GB defense isnt the same one Dak faced. In 2016 the GB defense had the worst pass defense in the league.

The 2016 playoff game was the last time when Dez was in a position to play I'm Just Better Than You. Their CBs just couldn't hang with him.

You think that was the Aaron Donald at even 1/2 his best. It ain't the DB that makes the Rams D go.

McCarthy was a huge part of that decision.

Dont agree with 1 thing you said to be honest. And if you watched the game then you would know that Donald was sitting on the sidelines for much of the game.

That defense was #1 in the NFL this year and Ramsey and Donald were the key to that. Cooper Kupp was also out, their best offensive weapon.

Rams will be even better next season. Great young RB over there to round out the offense.

Actually impressive that in two off seasons McVay has turned them from an offensive heavy team, to the #1 defense team. Offense is going through a makeover and I expect them to be very good next year.

Splitting hairs. They have the #1 offense in the league, the rams the #1 defense in the league. Glean from that what you will.
