I still can't fault the Lamb pick. There really weren't any players to draft at that position and Lamb was by far the best value at that position. I would have tossed my lunch if they picked Chaisson instead.
Since 2000 they have drafted only 7 WRs in the first 4 rounds. They drafted 15 CBs, 13 LBs and 12 DEs over the same period. Despite the preponderance of defensive selections in the 1st 4 rounds their defense was the worst in the league. At least the offense showed some proficiency.
Having said that, I don't think it is necessary to use first round picks on WRs - or RBs. McLaurin of the WFT is a 3rd round pick. Gallup is a 3rd round pick as well. Stephon Diggs was a 5th round pick. Davante Adams was a 2nd round pick as was Michael Thomas. Tyreek Hill was a 5th round pick. If you have an eye for WRs talent, there are quality players all over the draft.
