Strength of the team is our WR’s

I personally think it’s really odd to have the strength of your team as wide receivers....doesn’t make a lot of since to me to have so much draft capital tied up there but it is....

I can’t recall any good playoffs teams that had the WRs as their best unit

It’s not “odd” it’s stupid

Name the last SB winner that had 3 great WRs?

None

Now fans want us to go all in on CBs

When will we realize that team success depends on elite QB, followed by OL, great front 7. Everything else flows from there

They should have, they spent 2 1sts in 3 drafts and only the Lions under Matt Millen were that dumb.

But there is a lot of Lamb love here adding him to a pass offense that ranked 2nd with an 8-8 record. He is a good player, except for leading in drops, too bad he's on a bad team.

Cooper? Smart move Lamb? Dumb move and I am not coming off that opinion. It was a luxury and a YeeHaw! pick for Booger.

I would have rather seen them trade that pick for 2020 picks because they probably could have gotten a 1st and maybe 2nd.

It makes a lot of sense considering it’s a passing league. We saw what the team was like before we traded for Amari. WR just happens to be our best unit. You make it sound like having a strong WR group is a detriment to your chances of being a good playoff team. We had a strong WR group in the 90s. Our top two receivers were drafted in the first round. Most good playoff teams have solid defenses to go along with a solid QB and passing game.

It’s our defense and coaching that keep holding us back not our WR group. What kept us in games this season was our passing game. We struggled to run the ball consistently. Some on this board want us to unload all our receivers to try and build a defense. We need to hang onto the talent we have and hope we have a solid draft.

The top defense in the league got knocked off yesterday because their offense couldn’t keep up with Aaron Rodgers and his receivers. We have one of the most talented WR corps in the league and some here want us to dismantle it so we have nothing to hang our hats on.

I still can't fault the Lamb pick. There really weren't any players to draft at that position and Lamb was by far the best value at that position. I would have tossed my lunch if they picked Chaisson instead.

Since 2000 they have drafted only 7 WRs in the first 4 rounds. They drafted 15 CBs, 13 LBs and 12 DEs over the same period. Despite the preponderance of defensive selections in the 1st 4 rounds their defense was the worst in the league. At least the offense showed some proficiency.

Having said that, I don't think it is necessary to use first round picks on WRs - or RBs. McLaurin of the WFT is a 3rd round pick. Gallup is a 3rd round pick as well. Stephon Diggs was a 5th round pick. Davante Adams was a 2nd round pick as was Michael Thomas. Tyreek Hill was a 5th round pick. If you have an eye for WRs talent, there are quality players all over the draft.

I guess this has to be said in every WR thread but one of the good things about having all 3 is that after next year we cut Cooper and his $20M and use that money on a big time FA and most likely Defense.
Lamb looks like a legit stud and was a great pick and still is IMO. There is more than one way to build a team and I suspect that if our OL wasn't decimated by injuries and we didn't lose Dak no one would be complaining about these 3 WRs, they'd be praising how great it is to have them all. It's going to be very difficult to cover all 3 and this is a passing league and one thing I'm optimistic about going into next year is our WRs

So those of you who don't like the pick. You know if we passed on Lamb we were taking Chaisson right? Go check out how he did and then come back and say you are unhappy with Lamb.

I think we all realize with the other needs that WR is over done.

but we have no idea how the team sees the future at the position other than Cooper is #1.

you have to assume we can not re-sign all of what we have and that will change in the next 2 years.

Another position that needs cleaning and re-addressing is TE.

We need a top TE who can block and produce plays that are difference makers in the offense. Schultz is not the answer. Jarwin is totally unproven and its just a guess he can rise above what he has done so far.

So defense is our mantra but making ofther changes to redistribute the balance of the ball distribution is key also.

Just my thoughts.

I don’t think it’s as odd as people want to think it is. Kansas City, especially if we include Kelce is loaded with receivers. Tampa bays strength is their receivers.

Pittsburgh has tried to load up on receivers, even rebuilding teams like cincinnati are quietly building a strong wr unit.

Buffalo made themselves 3 deep at wr by bringing on diggs.

it’s just the way the league is headed.
