Why do we suck so bad in free agency?

In 2019 we were pretty good in FS. Hit on Quinn, Cobb, Bennett.
This year, just a disaster. Not a good sign for the McCarty regime, though I suppose the DC is gone.

Quinn was a trade, not signed in free agency. I think Bennett was also a trade as well.

The guys you mentioned were low 1 year deal guys, when was the last time we signed a first day multi year contract fa defensive player? Now that I'm thinking about it when was the last time we sign a first day multi year fa anywhere? You can't just do it through the draft alone.

KC defense: Ward, Clark, Hitchens, Wilson, Mathieu and Breeland came in either FA or trade.

Cheap, cheap Jones family and we dumpster dive. There is no excuse for when we had Dak and Zeke on rookie deals we did not bring in any quality free agents to improve the defense.

People have amnesia but they had a very good offseason in 2019...8-8. They have other issues other than free agency.
