Their contracts hurt their teams. You need supporting cast on both sides of the ball. Bills and browns coming soon. Dak will hurt dallas.
This has been @CATCH17 's point of contention for a long while.

I find it funny that people assume he hates Dak when he doesn't. He hates that his impending cap hits will hinder the entire team.

Wasn't a fan of Goff pre-draft...

Wasn't a fan of Goff after seeing him in the NFL early on.

Wasn't a fan of Goff when he was a NFL darling and going to the Superbowl.

Still not a fan of Goff.

Wentz will bounce back as long as there isn't an injury that we don't know about. Philly just has to add some weapons to that team.

Eagles fans out in full bloom all of a sudden.

Yeah...

I'm not the type to ignore an entire person's career based on 1 game, month, or season.

He's got immense talent and he's performed at a high level in this league.

I think this is the lowest we will ever see his stock.
Yeah well. You also thought Beathard and Kaaya were better prospects than Patrick Mahomes and Deshawn Watson so...forgive me but when it comes to taking your input on football related things I’ll pass. I bet you have some great recipe ideas though.

Goff can only read one side of the field. When they were doing the hurry up and Mcvay was calling everything, it made it easier for him.

I will never forget hearing Romo talk about what makes a good QB in the NFL. His number one thing he said was the ability to go through progressions at a top speed, to go from options 1 to 3 in like a second.

Goff can't do that with any consistency at all.

Agree completely. To be honest, I wasn't a fan of Goff or Wentz before the draft. But I do think Wentz will be fine under good circumstances.

The effect of the young guns like Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Murray, Mayfield, Allen and Jackson are taking their toll. Stafford is on the block, Goff is rumored to be as is Rodgers and these teams and fans want the new hot shot QB's.

So do some of the Cowboys fans. Prescott isn't good enough for them, they'd rather take a chance on one of these young studs in the draft when the same situation will apply, every QB has to have the team around him. Brees set records and will retire with just one ring. Rodgers only has one.

They were the cutest puppies in an ugly litter. Wentz has better arm talent than Goff but I wonder about either of them with the mental aspect of the game.

Think about it. How many of these quarterbacks are expected to be great? Teams make the mistake of wasting their picks on these dudes. If you don't have a Burrow, Lawrence, Andrew Luck, Payten Manning, or otherwise highly ranked QB coming out in the draft then you're just rolling the dice. You're better off drafting a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round that rolling the dice with some of these QBs drafted in the first.

I thought their game translated to the NFL better.. Learn the difference and then we can have a conversation.

NFL apparently agreed with me too and took Trubisky, a pro style QB, over 2 guys that played in spreads.

A lot has changed since then hasn't it? Spread offenses are taking over the league aren't they? QB's are becoming easier and easier to find because of this.

Team needs a fresh start at QB so they go with these two and DEN even trades up for Lynch. The fans and media don't blame them if it doesn't work out but they must take the chance or it doesn't look like they're trying to win. Look at CLE until they took Mayfield, they were getting hammered by their fans and the media for not taking their shot.

If the perception is a team needs a trigger man, they are obligated to go for the gold. There are 6 QB's slated to go in the 1st this draft based on the needs of the teams. Even Dilfer was a 1st rounder.

The team in the crosshairs is the Jets. Do they double down on a previous 1st pick or go for the gold again? CIN and MIA took their shot last draft. And we don't know yet if DET and HOU are in the QB hunt.

You just cant say. I WAS WRONG can you? Classic narcissist. One team messed up and took Trubisky. Not the NFL. The difference isnt there. You said they would be better pros. And my GOD WERE YOU OFF.

I'll restate what I have said countless times on here.

Positional scarcity at the QB position is gone. There are a LOT of good QB's nowadays. What separates the ones who win from the ones who don't is coaching and teammates. If you give a guy a good O-line, receivers and a defense to cover up his mistakes, lots of guys can win in the NFL including Dak.

These mammoth contracts make it really hard to put that top level team around a QB. Its self defeating and the NFL is going to figure that out relatively soon. The QB position is in a monetary bubble and its going to pop within the next few years.

not to get into a "when I was young sonny" type comment, but really teams were so much more patient. It seemed every team had a qb in the 70s and that was that, even guys like Pastorini, Jim Hart, Bartkowski, Archie Manning, Roman Gabriel, Bert Jones and so many more all had long runs with their teams without getting to super bowls. It's a different era nowadays, just keep flipping the position over until you get lucky with one.
It’s definitely a different era driven by the insane money, free agency and underclassmen coming into the league. Teams only have 4 years (5 for a 1st rounder) to figure out whether the guy can play so the pressure is to play them right away. And if there’s any glimmer of success, the team strikes early, too often way too early, to lock them up with a contract extension. The money with that extension then serves to take the pressure off the guy to perform.

Add to it that these guys are all underclassmen and come in less prepared for the NFL already. It’s why the NFL is devolving to the college game. Most of these guys don’t have the foggiest clue what to do under center.

You're absolutely right. These teams picking QBs like Haskins in the first round is a waste.

Dak is the best QB from the 2016 draft.

It’s no longer debatable.

We got the best player with the 135th pick. Unfortunately with Jerry as the GM we failed to capitalize on our good fortune.

Yup, and we have fans here that want him out because drafting a good QB is apparently so simple.
