Because this Thread is a just a childish tantrum... tantamount to a child taking their ball and going home after not getting picked to play

Sounds like someone is pointing out that the current model does not yield enough postseason success (and the trend of the team is either kinda sideways or slight decline).

If that is the end goal of the franchise, then you can accept the trend and try to add a few players to aim for greater heights. Or you can blow the thing up and start over with a new younger and cheaper group. It's not hard to believe that even with many alterations in the next few seasons, that the team's highest trajectory is the divisional round.

Btw, it seems like you and many others here focus almost entirely upon Dak as though he's the entire team. Just sayin.

And the Saints that year were one such team also, right? They only had the number 1 seed after all. No big deal that we beat them on primetime TV.
but but but but...it was the defense that did it, not Dak....the offense didn't score a jillion points each quarter, consistently....so it doesn't count (sarcasm fully intended)

The truth lies somewhere between what he says and what you say. We probably WON’T be legit Super Bowl contenders in 2021, but we also probably WILL be better than 2020, IF we can acquire some decent pieces in the next few months.

how could the defense not be better than the historically bad one this year...maybe you consider that better...lol

Because you don't have to sign players at the same salary they were dumped.

Attendance next year is not assured. The salary cap is dropping. Teams are looking to get a lot lighter.
32 teams have to deal with exact same issue in different ways.....its going to be interesting....I suspect a lot of older vets will hit the street and there will be some bargains to find, but I don't want to give out a contract to an older vet looking for one last contract before riding to sunset......no FAs except our own. draft draft draft defense defense defense

The salary cap is about to drop, and NFL teams seem to be tiring of high-priced middling veteran players that are constantly nursing injuries and making very little impact on season results.

I believe, like many others do, that we are about to see a sea of salary dumps in the NFL in the coming weeks.

I think Dallas needs to be one of those teams.

Big contracts don't make sense on below average football teams. When you're this bad defensively, and your offense is this inefficient at scoring touchdowns, you're not going anywhere anytime soon.

Keep the young studs you have, but look to trade or dump everybody else. Start over.

My fan side wants to go after Stafford or Rodgers, then try to nab some key defensive guys that are available. But that doesn't really make sense.

This is a fractured and dysfunctional franchise that needs to be honest with itself for once. This team isn't likable in the least. It doesn't really care. The best players are not the most committed players. It's a house of cards 365 days a year.

End this.

Lol. When I suggested we tank this year everyone was ready to rip my head off!!! Figuring out what to do at QB is the right thing to do.
Don't spend 40 million a year on Dak. Sign Jameis, Stafford, or some other young QB.

No fan base accepts mediocrity more than we do and we applaud Jerry while he does it.

Honestly, I'm more worried about slipping into a rut like 2000-2006 (except 2003 and 2006 when Romo took over) and never being able to get out of that tailspin than anything else with this franchise. I've never tasted much in the way of success. 2007, 2014, and 2016 were the only 3 seasons where I genuinely felt like I might finally see us in a Super Bowl. The only reason, in my mind, that we got out of that horrible tailspin was because we hired Parcells. Maybe McCarthy can save us from if we have to let Dak go, especially since he doesn't deserve the crap this fanbase throws at him. If we have to let him go, then I hope that it works out for this franchise because it's highly possible and has happened to where we may not get another franchise caliber QB for some time. Honestly, maybe some fans need this to happen. Maybe some fans need to go through that spell again so they can appreciate a franchise caliber QB when we have one and stop ripping every player that steps on our field for us. And other than McCarthy and maybe Belichick if we can some how persuade him to come here if he ever leaves the Patriots, I don't know if I can see a Parcells caliber coach that can fix us.

I don't give a F what my company pays the people I work with. I deserve the salary I've earned. Not a single one of us would willingly take less money from the company we work for so that company can afford other things or pay other people instead, unless that company is your own company. Yet some of you act as though players should care more about the team's salary cap than their own paycheck. And if they do act in their own interest, as we all do, some of you have the nerve to call them greedy.

If you take a salary that cuts other positions within the company, that company will likely suffer.

Sure. That's what they'll tell you, when the CEO is banking million dollar bonuses. Not my concern. My concern is making money for myself and my family.

Not all companies have CEOs making millions. Most companies, in fact.

Your post makes zero sense pertaining to the topic at hand. Your personal experience pertaining to the salary cap is completely irrelevant.

You don't seem to understand that what people around you make has a lot to do w/ what you make. Are you really this dense? At any given company, there is only so much to go around.

None of what you're saying pertains to the topic at hand. I don't get your viewpoint.

2 flaws in your thinking,
1. u dont work for a sports team whose goal is to win a certain trophy. A sports team is different from a regular business.
2. u dont make millions per year lol. so again this doesnt compare to regular jobs where people make 300 k a year or less.
For example 35 mil a year was not good enough for Dak, even though his 1 year would be more than all of us here combined lol, will make in a lifetime.

What is the difference between making 35 mil a year and 30 mil a year or 40 mil a year, nothing, the only difference is how much excess money
can a player have to play with or bank. It isnt money they need to live on lol. That is where it ventures into greed.

Why is the cap dropping?
you been asleep all year??
The owners made a deal to take part of the future cap money to repay them for lost revenue , from no people in the stadiums!
That is why many teams just had no fans, why bother when they get that money anyway!:flagwave:
The cap normally went up each year, but now any excess money and part of the existing cap will go to the owners.

That was the deal that enabled us to have this season.
As far as I can see, it may be the same thing for 21 season. Just a repeat of this season.
