After reading this, it sounds like he's just a confused as many fans but he's taking the high road. Good for him coz something tells me he may have the last laugh in this thing. Hell, sounds like McVay woke up one morning and said I want a new QB. Either way, this kid will be just fine IMO........

RAMS
Exclusive: Jared Goff unsure why he became wrong for Rams, but ‘the feeling’s mutual’

Competing emotions have come at quarterback Jared Goff like an all-out blitz from every angle — sadness, confusion, frustration, hope, elation and gratitude — and his head is still spinning, a few days after the Rams traded him to the Detroit Lions.

The deal that ended his time in Los Angeles surprised Goff, and the reality is only starting to sink in.

“Ultimately, they wanted to go in a different direction,” Goff, part of a blockbuster quarterback swap that sent Matthew Stafford to the Rams, said Tuesday. “As the quarterback, as the guy that’s at arguably the most important position on the field, if you’re in a place that you’re not wanted and they want to move on from you, the feeling’s mutual.

“You don’t want to be in the wrong place. It became increasingly clear that was the case. [The trade] is something that I’m hopeful is going to be so good for my career.”

Could you imagine if he just retires?
How bad would that screw up the Lions? Maybe the Rams too.

Goff was a bad combination of garbage and being paid a ridiculous sum of money

He pretty much kept us in that week 1 game. That is pretty much Goff in a nutshell

He's being very professional about it. No sulking, no dishing his former team. Refreshing these days.

He’s getting paid millions to be a mediocre QB. Not sure how he’s been wronged. If anything, a lot of his teammates like AD could be angry for how bad he played in the SB, costing them a championship.

IMO the Lions probably got the better deal. I say probably because who the hell knows?

The Lions got two 1st rounders and a 3rd for 33 year old Stafford. One of those 1st rounders was probably to take Goff off their books. But obviously the Lions needed a QB so it works out good for them. Goff is still pretty young with room to improve. If he takes an under market value extension after one year, the Lions aren't in bad shape. If they pay Goff anywhere near market value they're nuts.

The Rams on the other hand are just taking a shot from half court. They gave up a lot to take that half court shot. If they miss.....

Statistically, Goff is above average to good QB over the past three years. On the field, you can’t see it. Seems like a good guy, hope he picks it up in Detroit.

It will be interesting to see. Sometimes a change of venue is just what a young QB needs. I remember Jim Plunkett was a late bloomer. He was awful with the Patriots, okay with the 49ers, and then excellent with the Raiders.

Goff wasn't traded per se... Moving him out was a salary dump for the Rams... Lions picked up a second 1 for their willingness to take that bloated deal

What if Goff lights it up in Detroit and the Rams suck...
