Do not, and I repeat, do not sleep on them pulling off the Watson trade.....they certainly have a couple of young defensive starters they could offer. Either way, it sounds like our biggest fear of them getting a legit QB will likely happen.

Washington being aggressive for Stafford makes more sense than the Panthers. I believe with Stafford as their quarterback they would be the heavy favorites in the division next year even with a healthy Dak Prescott returning to the Dallas Cowboys. This team has a great defense and some nice talent at the skill positions. With their pick in the draft being so low (19th overall), I expect them to be aggressive in acquiring a free agent quarterback this offseason. Obviously, Washington will be in the mix for Watson, but if they fail to win the bidding for him, there are some other options out there that could make sense. Free agents Cam Newton and Jameis Winston would be upgrades over what they currently have. The team could also make some calls on players like Raiders backup Marcus Mariota, or the Jets' Sam Darnold. One wild card I could see is if the 49ers decide to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo, as he would be a natural fit in this offensive system and wouldn’t be asked to do a lot of the heavy lifting with a strong defense and running game.

Literally none of those qb options sounds intimidating. And if they did pull off acquiring Deshaun it would be by gutting their young impressive core.

I would go for Mariotta and see if I could make a play for Justin Fields.

I think Fields is Dak with more upside. Better athlete and better deep ball.

They're probably scared of tOSU QB's now though and it might be a tough sell to their fan base.

I have read and heard on sports radio that if WFT want Watson they will have to include Young in the deal or it is not even consider. Now that could be speculation on people's part but if I am Houston I would insist on it.

Could see Cousins being traded to 49ers. Maybe Washington make a move for Derek Carr

Don’t think it happens. Texans will want Young/Payne/Allen and it’ll cripple the stout defense

I'm sure Young is untouchable but I can certainly see them offering Payne and Allen alone three 1sts and couple of other picks.

I would not be surprised to see them go after Carr. Vegas and Chuckie are apparently interested in Watson and would be willing, according to reports, to put together the kind of deal that would get him. If that were to happen, Carr would be on the block cause I doubt he would ever go to Houston. Washington would be a perfect fit for him IMO. Would not be good for us though.

With the demands that I saw HOU was making, they will not have close to the number that played the Stafford game. And I assume that was a leak for effect.

2 1's, 2 2's and 2 starting young defenders.

WFT is coached by a D guy and liked and respected by Snyder, for a change, so he will not go nuts like he did for Griffin III unless Rivera is on board. As bad as the East is and as good as their D is, they'd be nuts to upset that when they can do something else, like trade up in this draft for a QB. Or get a bridge because one of these teams drafting a young stud is going to have a reason to trade their vet, like a Bridgewater, Darnold or Ryan. How about Matt Ryan in WAS? Or Tua if MIA takes a QB?

It is possible to make a trade work, but based on recent report, 2 #1's, 2 #2's and two defensive starters would gut that team and they may take a step back. Looking at the Washington Defensive Players, outside of their DL, they don't have high end starters. Houston isn't taking on Collins and his contract. Figure it would be Sweat with either Allen or Payne included, that is a huge hit. Add in that Washington's picks are high, probably won't even be enough.

I don't see it happening. One of those veterans might be headed their way and adding a QB via the draft. Newton, Dalton, Trubisky, Garopollo, etc. They can forget about trading up with anyone in the division too.

Just not worth it to me and I love Watson.

I'm not sure......imagine how Watson changes the dynamic of their team with Young as the defensive leader. He locks down their QB position for the next 7-8 years. I'd probably do it coz IMO you can recover from a couple of elite defensive players. Besides other than the late Reggie White, LT and maybe Deion, I can't remember a defensive player carrying a team to Super Bowl. There been some great ones but more times than not, they needed another defensive stud. Look at DWare, JJ Watts, Von Miller just to name a few. But a legit YOUNG top 5 QB w/o character or injury concern doesn't happen often in this league. This is no different from Wilson or Mahomes trade offering IMO. You throw damn near everything you can to make it happen but JMO.

You guys seem to forget that Watson has a no trade clause

There is literally zero that WFT has to offer that is enticing about them

I actually think fitzmagic would be scary In WAS. he’s an aggressive qb and him and McLaurin would be explosive, and the stout D could offset his penchant for to’s

Keep in mind if Watson immediately leads them to the postseason the values of the draft picks are reduced. Hell I'd give those up every day for a QB who put my team in contention for the postseason every season .......like Rogers, Wilson, Mahomes

Why you say that......they easily offer a couple of their DLinemen and draft picks. Not to mention, it's unlikely they'll be able to keep all of them together with 2nd contracts.

You aren't following along. Watson has to agree to a deal.
