DeMarcus Ware will be eligible for the next Pro Football HOF enshrinement class. I’m not sure he’s a first ballot- although he should be- I doubt he’s in his first year of eligibility. We will see. His credentials are impeccable. All 2000s All Decade team, 4 time All Pro, 9 time pro bowler, led the NFL in sacks in 2008 and 2010, and was a 2 time Butkus award winner

And, Darren Woodson is past due IMO. The Cowboys all time leading tackler was a first team All Pro 4 times, which is rare air for any player and a 5 time pro bowler. A member of the Cowboys ROH, has 3 SB rings (remember those?) and was the 2002 winner of the Bart Starr Award for outstanding character. He’s overdue to be in Canton.

Jason Witten will be eligible by 2026 and is a shoo in too. Probably first ballot. I would think Zack Martin has a great shot to be in Canton someday if he can stay healthy. Maybe Tyron Smith but his injuries the last few years have derailed what was a promising direction to the HOF.

We need some guys to start measuring up in the near future or we may have the longest HOF drought we have ever seen. Time will tell.

I think Ware should be a first ballot hall of famer too.

He also has a super bowl ring and played excellent in the Broncos playoff run to win the title.

I can’t think of a single reason that Ware shouldn’t be a first ballot hall of famer. One of the best pass rushers of his generation and a Super Bowl champ.

Ware is 1st ballot.

Woodson is not deserving. Three all pros is not a HOF career. All of y'alls gotta get over this. It isn't anti-Cowboy bias. He's just not worthy. Good god. Compare him to Ed Reed. Reed had like 64 picks. Woodson 23. He just doesn't stack up against modern safeties.

John Lynch deserves to be in. But Woody is way, way overdue.

I agree that Lynch deserves to be in.

But Woodson just as much and he has been eligible for longer. So it’s just not fair to Woodson that lynch is in before him.

That last series in the AFC championship game Ware pretty much ran Brady out of the stadium.
And by that time he was quite past his prime.
But then he had a lot of help with the Broncos that he never got with the Boys. It was not all on his shoulders every single game for 60 minutes like it was for us.

Woody was a 4 time AllPro- same number as Ware. Same number as recently enshrined Charles Woodson. I hear you that Woody didn’t have the pick numbers Ed Reed did. But Reed didn't play the same type of S position Woody did, exhibited by Reed not having the tackle numbers Woody did.

I hear you. Woody’s not Ed Reed. But he’s at least as good if not better than John Lynch at TB who’s in HOF. They have almost identical numbers. And Woody has two more SB rings. Sorry man. It’s not sour grapes.

Its like how Stallworth and Swann got in years before Pearson when it should have been the other way around.

Idk man. Ed Reed is the best safety ever. If we aren’t putting safeties into the hall for fame because they aren’t as good as Ed Reed

Then nobody gets in besides Ed Reed.

It’s wild that Woodson is one of the best safeties that’s ever stepped on a football field and he may not be a Hall Of Famer.

John Lynch is a HOF’r and Woodson isn’t? Really? Woodson was twice the player Lynch was.

Correct. It wasn’t all Ware. He had Miller on the other side helping out.

but yeah that AFC title game was like his keystone career moment. He and Miller were all over Tom Brady that game.

I just looked at the game log. He hit Brady 7 times that game. 7!

I think some people forget that Woodson used to cover receivers in the slot. He was like a quality nickel CB on top of all the other things he brought to the table.

Woodson could do it all.

I don't believe Woodson is HOFer but I also don't think John Lynch should have got in either. I think it's a joke that Denver put him in their ring of honor and he only spent 4 years there and had 3 ints, wth?

No one really knows what the criteria is for entry into the Hall of Fame. Basically, we know it when we see it.

See Pro Football Reference HOF Tracker
Ware is the highest scoring OLB not yet in the HOF. Should be first ballot.

Witten is the highest scoring TE not yet in the HOF and not named Antonio Gates.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_TE.htm

The DB data is weird. Not separated out by S vs. CB. Woody is way down the charts, but less than 1 point behind John Lynch, who just made it.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_OLB.htm

I'm too lazy to try to break out CBs from Ss. He's got 3 rings, 3 All Pro years, and 5 total pro bowls. I think he's hurt by having a short period of dominance, 94-98. No one else with 3 of each, but some with 3 of either not in yet.

Leroy Butler has to go before Woody, and Butler will go, but I don't know about Woody.

Play SS, cover the slot, hit like a LB. Woody's versatility made the defense go. We could play the same personnel package and always count on Woody to take up the slack. Huge advantage that doesn't show up on highlite reels, but does show up in wins.

Maybe if they complain enough and throw some tantrums, they will get people to feel sorry for them and elect them in like they did for Pearson. That seems to be the ticket these days. Cry and moan and you get what you want.
