Ware, yes.

Woody, probably not.

Many former Cowboy greats (besides Pearson), keep on waiting.

DeMarcus Ware will be eligible for the next Pro Football HOF enshrinement class. I’m not sure he’s a first ballot- although he should be- I doubt he’s in his first year of eligibility. We will see. His credentials are impeccable. All 2000s All Decade team, 4 time All Pro, 9 time pro bowler, led the NFL in sacks in 2008 and 2010, and was a 2 time Butkus award winner

And, Darren Woodson is past due IMO. The Cowboys all time leading tackler was a first team All Pro 4 times, which is rare air for any player and a 5 time pro bowler. A member of the Cowboys ROH, has 3 SB rings (remember those?) and was the 2002 winner of the Bart Starr Award for outstanding character. He’s overdue to be in Canton.

Jason Witten will be eligible by 2026 and is a shoo in too. Probably first ballot. I would think Zack Martin has a great shot to be in Canton someday if he can stay healthy. Maybe Tyron Smith but his injuries the last few years have derailed what was a promising direction to the HOF.

We need some guys to start measuring up in the near future or we may have the longest HOF drought we have ever seen. Time will tell.

Maybe if they complain enough and throw some tantrums, they will get people to feel sorry for them and elect them in like they did for Pearson. That seems to be the ticket these days. Cry and moan and you get what you want.
Well, you should know.

That’s what makes the HOF so select . Not everyone you’d think deserves it gets in.

Buts it’s never over . Drew had to wait almost 40 years. Sometimes you get inducted posthumously.

I’m very pleased for Drew. But I’m not sure he’s more deserving than others who have been left out.

We must always remember when someone or a group is electing or voting someone in there’s not a clear defining measurement .

And induction can be defined by impact more than longevity or production and accomplishments.

As far as other Cowboys who we’d like to see inducted , I wouldn’t expect anyone who isn’t in our Ring of Honor to be considered seriously.

Not sure how the HOF can consider induction if the franchise doesn’t honor them as one of their best.

To be blunt that is GARBAGE. We have seen Jones play games with the ROH. So you claim that one idiot currently owning the franchise should have a veto on someone getting into the HOF?

That’s not what I’m saying.

Obviously the HOF didn’t wait in Jimmy’s case.

There should not be a Cowboys HOF prejudice anymore. Because the Dallas Cowboys do not exist anymore. There is no reason that Arlington Jonesboys should be denied the HOF that inducted Jerry Dumbo GM Jones.

The reason Real Dallas Cowboys were denied the NFL HOF is because the did not need the HOF to be famous or to be held in eternal memory. Who on this website does not know Cornell Green, Larry Cole, John Gesek, Tony Tolbert, Tom Rafferty, Bob Breunig, etc all with Super Bowl Rings. So how do you think those other NFL players felt when they hear Drew Pearson, Bob Hayes, and Charles Haley as players on America's Team considered for the HOF?...P.O.

But times have changed over the last 27 years of no NFC Championship game appearances, no Super Bowls, and Jerry Jones in the Hall of Fame. The prejudice is over thanks to losing. The Arlington Jonesboys need the Hall of fame for NFL memories, The Dallas Cowboys really did not need it before.

Woody and Leroy Butler had essentially been canceling each other's votes out for HOF votes for best safeties of the 90s.

This year, for the first time, Leroy Butler advanced to the final 15.

If Woodson gets it, it might have to be <after> Butler gets in given the way the current HOF voters looked at Butler vs Woodson this year.

IMHO neither Woodson or Butler are HOF worthy.

Like who did for Pearson? Are you saying Drew Pearson did not deserve to be in the HOF? He was the only “All Decade” receiver from the 1970s that wasn’t in the hall. I don’t have to list all his qualifications but I’ve never seen anyone “whining” on his behalf. Advocate yes. Whine? Maybe you could show some examples I missed.

Ware and Witten will get in. Zack Martin is definitely on pace if he can stay healthy. I agree injuries hurt Tyrone's chances. If Lynch is in then Darren Woodson should be in.

Chuck Howley is the most glaring omission as far as Cowboys go. 5x First Team All Pro and a Super Bowl MVP.

Harvey Martin also has to be in if they put L.C. Greenwood in (Greenwood has been a six time finalist).

Greenwood: 6x Pro Bowl, 2x All-Pro, 73.5 sacks over 13 seasons, 1970s All Decade team

Martin: 4x Pro Bowl, 1x All-Pro, 114 sacks over 11 seasons, 1970s All Decade team, 1977 Defensive Player of the Year, unofficially had 23 sacks in 1977...the league pretending like sacks didn't exist before 1982 really hurts a lot of these older players

I think Ware is a 1st or 2nd ballot guy.

Has the gaudy numbers, a ring and played at a high level during the SB run.

Woody will IMO wait even longer.

I kinda think there are a few more that are deserving and ahead of some of these more recent guys, myself. Cornell Green probably heads that list. Chuck Howley has been mentioned, I believe but LeRoy Jordan is right there with him IMO. Harvey Martin should be among the top of the list as well. Too Tall should be on the list, and John Nailand should really be there as well, IMO.

He was the one that was whining and throwing tantrums every year he get passed over.

Personally, no, I dont believe he deserved to get it. It would set a very low bar for getting in. Now they are going to have a lot more recievers whining to get it with much better numbers.

I think some people get too hung up on numbers and forget the player’s impact on the game. I mean Pearson was clearly considered one of the best WRs of the 1970s and he has his hands in many iconic moments. You really think they should have left him out and the all decade team should have stayed like this?

It’s wild that Woodson is one of the best safeties that’s ever stepped on a football field and he may not be a Hall Of Famer.

John Lynch is a HOF’r and Woodson isn’t? Really? Woodson was twice the player Lynch was.

Lynch played longer and has almost twice as many pro bowl appearances. The back halfs of their careers are completely different - Woodson's pro bowls came in our best seasons when we were placing tons of starters in the probowl. He didn't sniff the probowl in his final five seasons. Lynch, on the other hand, put in a string of four straight probowl appearances to end his career.

Lynch played longer and was good for longer. Woodson had several good seasons but a good number of pedestrian ones.
