The Return Of Blake Jarwin

Twenty-five snaps. One catch for 12 yards.

That was Blake Jarwin's entire 2020 season. In the second quarter of the opener against the Rams, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and had surgery in early October, lost for the year just a few months after signing a three-year extension worth up to $24.2 million as a projected starter for the first time in his career.

"I think I made a lot of headway in camp and I was headed in the right direction to have a big year. And then things happen," Jarwin said in October on the Miller Lite Cowboys Hour with Brad Sham and Dani Sureck. "It's one of those deals that I'll grow from it."

Jarwin had surgery in early October with the goal of being ready for this year's training camp and season opener. A healthy Jarwin in 2021 means yet another weapon for offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, and an interesting question about the offense's dynamic at this point in the offseason:

How will the offense incorporate two starting-caliber tight ends?

What do you guys think of Blake Jarwin? Should the Cowboys keep him and Schultz? Should the Cowboys trade Jarwin?

With this defence? Heck no! We need defence at 10, and the likes of Farley, Parsons, Horn, Surtain, and Barrmore negate the drafting of Pitts.
The strength of this draft is offense. You can get an equivalent defensive player in the 2nd round.
We need a Gronkowski more than we need a 2nd tier defensive player.

Over the likes of Farley? Nope. I get it, Pitts is a beast. I wouldn't be too mad if we did draft him. However, our defence was awful, and we have a huge need at LB, S, and CB. There are 3 CBs that are the best in the draft. We need defence in the worst way.

I want defense, but playing devil's advocate what if your scouts have Pitts as a bluechip - he's the next Tony Gonzalez and all the defensive players they have left are considered much lower that it's not even close?

If the strength of the draft was offense, shouldn’t you be looking for defensive prospects while they’re still on the board?
No because you can theres not much of a defensive talent drop off between what you can get at 10 than you can get with your second round pick.

I suppose in that case, I would take him. But I mean, we have the worst defence, and we need a lot of pieces on that side of the ball.

Sure, but how much longer must we go before we finally address the gaping problems we have on defence? Our problems on that side of the ball are only going to get worse until the Cowboys address it.

I would love to see the defense addressed in free agency and scoop up as much offense in the draft as we can .
There's a lot of offensive line talent in this draft as well.

That I agree. I found an OT that I think we can add with our comp 3rd or 4th round. The guy's name is Aleric Jackson. He's from Iowa. My mock draft that I did has DB round 1, DT round 2 with Tufele (my opinion, the best DT in the draft), and S in round 3.

The only way I'd take Pitts is if we can get a big trade down. That'd allow us to use the multiple 2nds and 3rds we'd get on defence.
