We could get lucky and receive 2 first round picks for him. The Colts traded for Wentz so they're out of the running. The Saints don't have enough cap room. Maybe a team like the Panthers (8th pick), Jets (2nd pick), or Broncos (9th pick) sign him.

They should’ve done this last year.

Dallas constantly gives themselves no leverage..

I don’t know if they are trying to negotiate like honorable gentlemen in hopes of a discount but Todd France is making them look like fools.

I agree but it might not be too late. Wentz got traded for a 3rd round pick and a 1st round pick (if he stays healthy and/or the Colts make the playoffs). Wentz was awful last season.

It doesn’t matter because no one is going to sign Dak until his leg is healed which is probably 6 months away.

Everything points to Dak playing this season on the tag again. If he has an All Pro season, he’ll probably get the largest contract in NFL history in 2022. If he plays average and/or gets injured again, his time here will be done.

Yea, let other teams set the price for him.

I have no idea why fans are obsessed with this idea. It's absolutely the worst thing you can do.
And if that price is outrageous.....we get 2 1st round picks in exchange.

The nonexclusive tag is the smart business decision........therefore the Jones' will not do it........

I already told you Dak has no value since he can’t pass a physical. Nobody is giving anything for Dak until he can play. He can’t play right now.

Didn't Drew Brees have a major injury before leaving the Chargers and signing with the Saints as a free agent? Brees signed a pretty big contract. In the NBA Kevin Durant signed a max contract with the Nets coming off of an Achilles tear (much more severe than Dak's injury).

Other teams have already set the market. Todd France is using the previous QB contracts as leverage for Dak’s. Just like Zeke & his agent used Gurley’s. The only reason not to do the non-exclusive tag is if you’re afraid if what it will do to the locker room. But this is business and, as is shown over and over, players understand that better than anyone when it comes contract time.

The market and the price aren't the same thing.

The market is $40. If, say, Chicago came in and said "we'll go to $45," that's now the price. The reason you don't do non-exclusive is because it forfeits all of your control. It's the same as not letting a guy get to UFA before signing him.

Just a really bad idea with a quarterback. 0 upside.

Jerry has to do zero. Franchise Dak, who will balk and sign, just like last year, and have to prove himself after this injury and that too behind Philbin and an aging and deteriorating OL, with an OC that has shown he is questionable in consistently running the ball.

and Dak isn’t getting 2 first round draft picks coming off this injury anyways. Only his fans think he’s worth that much.

Not being stuck with a $40 million/year QB and getting 2 1st round picks in return are ENORMOUS UPSIDES in my book.
