I also have no problem with Jerry breaking the bank for Dak... What else does he have to do to earn it?

nothing bad that’s happened in the last 5 years has been on him

Jerry hasn't done anything in the last 25 years in FA anyway. Dak is by far the best qb in the division which means we have a leg up on making the playoffs every single year that he is here.

I see so in your mind it's a team game but it makes sense to dedicate the lions share of your salary cap dollars to 1 guy.
I've said for over a year that Dak should get no more than in the low 30s (millions) per year, especially now due to his injury. Put some clauses that allows the Cowboys to cut bait if Dak's injury rears its ugly head. Low 30s is fair for a starting young QB entering his prime who statistically is in the top 7 of all QBs and has only gotten better the past 2+ years.

Or what would you prefer? Some wannabe or a has been who will cost you somewhere in the 20s but can't put up the statistical numbers that Dak can? You would rather weaken the most important position on the team (that includes drafting an inexperienced college QB who will take at least 2-3 years to mature and learn the ropes...while not guaranteeing he will put up equal to or better numbers that Dak has)?

Nobody should have a problem paying a quarterback. It’s paying other players that wanna be prima donnas. You win with the football players. Everybody wants to do it but no one wants to do with it really takes the business aspect like the Belichick you’re gone on contract is up. That’s how it Hass to be it’s the scheme it’s the coaching is still leader ship and that starts with the quarterback and head-coaching and GM

Top 5 based on what? What exactly has Dak Prescott ever won? Hell what exactly has he done that warrants this claim that he is top 5?

-Only 4 QB's since the NFL merger have had 40 wins or more their first 4 years. Dak is one of them.
-Rookie of the year
-Cowboys never had a losing season under Dak
-Most last drive wins his first 3 years in the NFL
-2nd best offense in the NFL 2019
-Broke the Rams NFL record for offense through the first 4 games of last year
-In 2019 he was 1 yard shy of the Cowboys all time passing record for a season

Yawn..............any other dumb questions?

Belichick got rid of all of his players due big pay......except his QB. For roughly 20 years he kept his same QB and made sure his QB got paid fairly well. Hmm, why is that?

BTW, this is the same Belichick who thinks extremely highly of Dak as a QB and even more so as a person.

what did watson do? what did he win to get a new contract? Allen is about to get his, will you say the same about him? Rodgers got paid, twice, in the past 11 years he hasn't been to the superbowl. so based on what you just said, only QBs that win the superbowl deserve to be paid. is that it?

Hell, when was the last time he won on the rd or won 2 in a row let alone 3 like dalton did with probably one of the worst lines in team history...let that sink in.
LOL. dalton beat 3 teams with 4 wins each and their back up QBs playing...when was the last time dallas played three 4 win teams in a row

2018, Dak went 7-1 in the last 8 games. lead us to playoffs. when was the last time Dalton did that?

"We suck anyway so Jerry should pay whatever Dak wants."

at what rate? sure i like dak but not for over 35 the dude turned that down and thats when he lost my support..thats so far past his talent level he should have grabbed that and pout this mess to bed..

7-11 last 18 games missed played 3 out of 5 years now come on your system has holes a chance ? sure but thats not been happening and i have issue with what hes demanding..
he didn't turn down 35, he actually wanted less. he wanted a 4 year deal rather than a 5 year deal. he led the #1 offense before his injury. he led the #2 offense last year. he led the #1 offense in 2018, after we got cooper.

but I guess you like Dalton...right? its all about how cheap they are, perhaps we can just go with Gilbert and sign 11 defensive FA with the 30M we save. right?

is there another bilicheck we can get? seems like he could do that, we should just go find one and win 7 superbowls.

Have you been watching? We've had the best quarterback in the division since 2006. Yet 3 times our division opponents won super bowls since then.
don't forget we had garrett as a head coach....the one who iced his own kicker.....nuff said

True, but is our goal just to win the division?

Here is my opinion of why I think Jerry has a problem signing Dak:
Romo had problems and everyone said he needed to sign OL. So Jerry went out and got Great OL, three or four paid at the top of their positions.
They needed a RB, so he got the best out there, and with that OL he was the best -- and demanded to be paid like it.
They had a receiving issue, so he went and got an awesome route running WR -- who wanted paid.

All these high priced players, should make an avg QB look good. Top WR, Top RB, Top OL.
Jerry thought the name of the Cowboys and the fact that he put all these top players there would make the QB want to take a little less, and stay; especially since these guys had made him look good.

Only Dak hired an agent that said: "No I want my guy to be the highest paid -- look at how good my guy is -- after Jerry paid the OL, WR, RB".
Jerry doesn't mind paying, but paying for a 4-12 and 8-8 seasons wasn't what he was bargaining for.

Will Dak get paid -- Yes. Will Dak get paid what his agent wants by the Dallas Cowboys -- Not likely.

IMO, if Dak hasn't signed long term before the draft, then Dak won't be in Dallas past one more year. They will make new plans without Dak in them for the following year, and Tag him this year. They not just won't tag him the next year, they won't try to negotiate with him either.

15% of a $180M is $27M. One of 52 players making 15% of your cap gets problematic. Dak's agent seems to want much more than that. This is still a team game, regardless of what agents seem to think.
