He went 1-3 in the games he started and finished. Giving him the Giants win when he went down in the 3rd quarter of a tight game is ridiculous.

1-3. His only win being the Falcons brain fart on the onsides kick.

One of the biggest tells that someone has a low football IQ is when they attribute wins to a QB (the other best/worst one is using sacks as a definitive pass rushing metric). Wins and losses are team stats. That is why people who actually want to analyze a QB use much better metrics than a metric that makes no rational sense to attribute to any one player.

How can you assess Dak, on just last year stats? The Cowboys were 2-2, going into the Giants game, and they were leading when he was hurt. What would you say after his other seasons played?

The Cowboys were not 2-2 going into the Giant game. 1-3 with a win against Atlanta which was really a loss but for a once in a blue moon watermelon onside kick. Basically 0-4 going into the Giant game.

The Dak-led Cowboys were leading the winless and woeful Giants by 2 or 3 points midway in the 3rd quarter. The Cowboys were driving for a TD and were in FG range when Dak broke his leg and dislocated his ankle. The Giant game was far from being in the bag with Dak at QB.

The Cowboys did get screwed in the Ram game with a bogus offensive PI.

Glad you asked.. I keep this handy when people brag about 2019.

So Dak threw for 30 TD's this season. (2019)

16 of his 30 TD's came against 3 of the worst 5 teams in football.

9 of those TD's came in the first 3 weeks against awful teams. (All drafting top 5)

Against teams with a record of .500 or better he threw 11 TD's.

The other 19 came against the weak teams on our schedule and 13 of those 19 came in the first 3 weeks and week 17 against Washington when he threw 4 against a team that was done.

Dallas was also 2-7 against teams with a .500 record or better.

Dak had 4 games this year with no TD passes including our loss to the Jets...

He also had 11 int's... 3 of them came against the teams below .500.. The other 8 came against the teams with a .500 record or better.

Wow lmao. You really have to do a deep dive to spin the narrative. Hats off to your effort.

It isn't just interceptions, it's the ability to quickly progress through your reads, it's the ability to read defenses consistently and accurately - look at the best QB's they are guys who make the reads quickly, release quickly and move the ball. The best games to observe Dak's play are games (good example is the Rams game from 2020 - 3 whopping points scored by the offense in the second half of that game) where he is facing defenses that are above average. You will see the panic, throwing balls short and behind receivers consistently, and offense that is settling for FG's instead of TD's or in most cases going 3 and out over and over again. Can this team do worse than Dak yes. Can they do better than Dak - ALSO YES. When you boil it down paying a guy who is more in the mold of a Kirk Cousins like an elite QB regardless of what the Houston Texans paid Deshaun Watson is stupid.
That is what the Dakstat lovers can never see much less ever understand.

People aren't that concerned with his injury.
I would love to actually read and see any evidence, article from any respected source that has stated anything about Daks injury, non motivated, not from his brother... from a Doctor that hates sports preferably.
That would be non bias reporting,, something that is so rare.

One thing for sure is, no one on this forum actually knows what another team will pay Dak. Nor does anyone know what another team will or will not give up for Dak. No one will know until it happens. Everything else is just an opinion or guess. Remember the NFL teams that would be assessing Dak , are infinitely more qualified than anyone here. They also don’t have the biases against Dak that many of the posters here do. They will be making a objective professional assessment, something many people on this forum seem unable to do when it comes to Dak.

They were 1-3 with the one win being a highly unlikely onside kick. Should have been 0-4 going into the Giants game.

I have explained my position in thread multiple times on his good play in previous seasons.

Go through every turnover and tell which ones are his fault.

Russ had 7 Ints and 6 fumbles over a 9-game period to end last year.
Mahomes had 4 INTs and 3 fumbles in the final 3 games last year.

These stretches happen to every quarterback. Don't comment on what Dak is or isn't worth until you have realistic expectatoins.
So, lower my expectations? Dak has been a Cowboy for 5 seasons. Am I wrong to want to be in an NFC Championship or SB? That is my expectation.

Brady consistently took significantly less money to help the patriots/Bucs with cap. Not realistic to expect everyone to do that.

Why not? If the objective is to win championships then a person who is demanding a higher salary when it does not warrant such a price tag isn't interested in winning. Sorry but that's not a guy you want on a team.

Wow it must be really windy, because those goal posts just moved about 20 feet.

No, you're not wrong to want that, but you're colosally wrong to say "don't pay Dak because of wins and losses." That's lazy logic.

A lot is being said about Dak's gaudy stats last year and it is worth visiting those numbers.

In the five games Dak played in, he threw 4 ints and fumbled 3 times. The numerous Cowboy mistakes made them play catch up all/most of the games. Dak threw a lot of passes against bad or prevent defenses last year. He did not have to face the Commanders front 7 either time. The Cowboys went 2-3 in those games needing a miracle to beat the lowly Falcons.

Yes, Dak put up some huge yards in those games. I like Dak, his skill set and his leadership.

With that said, giving him 40 mil per will put this team squarely where it has been. Average.

If the Cowboys can get a first and a third(or more), you need to avoid cap disaster. Dak needs help to win and if anything 2020 proved that.

I love this "fresh take". Thank you for the content of this thread. It is like cold water to a thirsty person in the desert.

That is one thing that has been sorely lacking on this forum. A Dak thread. My compliments. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
