I'm looking for the link where someone who's actually a part of the negotiations confirmed $35m/4yrs would have gotten it done last year. Lots of championing whatever rumor fits an agenda in this thread. Or just pulling nonsense out of thin air.

lol. The only way we know whats going on is people inside the organization leaking to cowboy insiders in the media like Jane Slater. Nobody is dumb enough to go on the record and risk their job. This is old news. You should pay more attention if you are that interested.

No one knows the the final deal will be for Dak. But whatever it is, it will be fair for both sides.

I actually rooted for Romo for about 5 years before realizing he would never wins SB even with a great defense. Dude was too snake bit. It took me less time to figure out Dak and Cousins
LOL You hate on everything Cowboys LOL!

Agree. You might be able to play naive early on but he knows exactly what is happening and that another tag means big FA a year from now. He’s trying to break the bank either way.

Dak said from the very beginning he wasn't planning on giving a discount. That shouldn't be news to anyone.

Dak and his agent refused to budge on any part of the language. When they showed they wouldn't negotiate, Jerry should have made a trade.

Pot, meet kettle.

Serious as a heart attack. I read both articles and no where did he say he wouldn’t be willing to give a home town discount. The writer just wrote the story that way to make it seem like that’s what he was responding to. You’ve been sucked.

Dak is a greedy prick who knows there isn't going to be anymore BIG contracts after this one so he's looking to cash in now! He's been in Dallas since 2016 and had ONE great year because of the O-line, nothing less and nothing more. When the O-Line started to breakdown the 13-3 season was just a dream to every Cowboy fan. Dak has been good at leading this team to victories over bottom feeders but he struggles BIG TIME when he's up against winning teams. Not worth the big bucks and JJ needs to move on from this greedy player and his blood thirsty agents!

I don't know how you get discount from "every bit of their worth".

Every bit of their fair market value. He just doesn’t want to give a Brady type discount and rightfully so. Brady’s made his money and has a super rich wife.

Every bit of fair market value sounds like no discount to me.

And this statement is what but arrogance? Why the hate.

Zeke STRUGGLES big time vs winning teams. And the d as usual is no where to be found.

If the Cowboys had a sense of urgency after 2018 they could have likely gotten the 5th year extension and had 2019 to frontload as well.

sometimes I wonder if Cowboys fans actually pay attention

Prescott record

2016: 13-3

Are you paying him 25 million/year after his rookie season?

2017: 9-7
2018: 10-6

are you paying Dak 30 million/y after this?

2019: 8-8

are you paying Dak 35 million/y after that?

and after 2020: 2-3

are you paying him 40 million/y after that?

Now, before you say, these are team records and a lot of the losing was because of defense, I will say to you

1. Elite QBs are judged by team records and playoff success

2. if we had a horrible defense when we were paying our QB 2 million do you think our defense will get better once we are cap strapped paying him 40 million?

just think about these things before rooting for this guy to be paid

root for the Cowboys
Not the player

Yes, I would have paid him. I was gonna say something snarky for acting like I have no idea what the Cowboys record was for Dak's career but I decided to be civil.
