Makes more sense trying to win games on the right side 24-21 on average than your way of the wrong side of 30-33.

A Dak would be a cap hit of probably $28M first year of a monster contract. Dalton or Winston would be, say $7M. Leaves me with 4 players like Brown at $5M.
where are 4 players like brown? oh, sorry, I remember, 1-800-CALLFORGOODCHEAPPLAYERS hotline...got it

Well considering the fact that Garoppolo already is, Brissett did last year, and Bridgewater makes $21m no, not really. That's what starting quarterbacks who aren't on a rookie deal make, especially if you're going to sign one of those guys and pretend you aren't actually tanking.

But the QB cost thing is really besides the point, because your entire strategy is based on signing a bunch of players who do not exist.

Colts, Panthers, and 49ers overpaid. Garappolo and Bridgewater are being dumped. Brisett will get a fraction of what he got. Mariota has no trade value since he makes $10M and had $10M in escalators if he is starter. Raiders tried to trade him but teams don’t like the contract.

where is 4 or 5 players like Malcom brown? you just took one example and multiplied by 5 without any evidence of their availability...and will 4 or 5 malcolm browns equate to a top notch defense that can compensate for Dalton's craapy play. because we would need a ravenesque defense like they had with Dilfer to see any success.....

It is one example but the cuts just are beginning. Brown and Mia LB Van Noy. Others are coming. Patience, Grasshopper.

Going to be interesting. I saw this posted earlier

Uh yeah, they’ve been talking about having to let him walk, priority being Lattimore and Ramstyck for over a year now and there’s several articles on him out there with his pay scale being 14 to 15m annually and the Saints being expected to let him walk. Not sure how much stock I’d put in a tweet. Would be interesting as that would put Ramstyck on the market!

according to @Future teams will pay these QBs $20M.

They aren’t worth $20M just like Dak isn’t worth $40M.
If they sign with a team to be the starter they will make at least $20 million, if it's as a backup then it would be in that 5-10 area and if it's to compete for a starting spot it would be like the one you mentioned that Mariota signed with incentives if he's the starter.

I wasn't aware gallimore was that dynamic. what did he do to deserve such accolades, or is that he walked to the hallowed halls of cowboys facility and drank the kool aid they handed him and he became superman...he was average to below average at best. so lets not let imaginations run wild.
c'mon debbie downer..cheer up man..

can we not post every player released lon thr main zone page.,..the DC are not a landing spot for every dang player released..when there actual FO press released they might sign one, then post it..

NO draft talk should also be no FA talk...

You're right, I should have started a Dak thread instead.

Breese can barely throw a football.

Darnold is a young guy with 4 years experience who has never had anything around him.

His talent and the QB friendly environment he would walk into would lead to success imo.
Brees ... and with him retired he really isn't even part of the discussion with the Saints, so it's just a matter of what next. Like you said above in another post, the Saints had success without Brees last year, so it's possible they could just go with Taysom Hill rather than adding someone like Darnold.

if Brown hits the market he will ask for more than 5. Van Noy signed a 4 year 51M contract, you think he is going to sign for 5M!?

but you don't get to set the market value of QBs in the NFL...you can scream, post as much as you want. if that's the going rate. then that's the going rate, regardless of your disapproval unfortunatley

The Saints are trying to trade Brown so his salary would go with him. Miami is releasing Van Noy because I guess they think he is overpaid. Teams have to get down to $182M. None of us know what Van Noy can get right now. I doubt he is getting what Mia signed him to. My guess is in the $5-8M with incentives. One could easily sign Van Noy to a $5M cap hit first year.

Van Noy would be awesome here...6..7 year starter.

This is an opinion board. People opine and guess and predict. Of course, I don’t set the market. I am pretty confident no one is signing Dalton to $20M. Care to opine on the QB market?
