Unlikely we will need more than $5 million in cap space to sign our rooks; the teams that need $10 million pick in the top 5.

Here is a link to the 2020 draft picks and their 1st year cap hits:

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/draft/2020/

Here is what the picks we have in this year's draft were paid in from last year's draft (1st year cap hit):

Pick #10 - $3.58M
Pick #44 - $1.35M
Pick #66 - $0.89M
Pick #75 - $0.87M
Pick #99 - $0.82M
Pick #107 - $0.81M
Pick #115 - $0.80M

So you are already up to $9.12M through Round 4.

Brace yourself for Ha Ha Clinton Dix-type signings for free agents with their best days in the rear view mirror.

McCarthy will hopefully tell Stephen to get **** done money-wise to fill some holes with quality players.

I fully expect 1-2 of Ricardo Allen, Keanu Neal and Damontae Kazee to sign

Cap is going down. Veterans get hurt a lot. Salaries have skyrocketed. Highly-paid players protect their brand and don't play hurt. Young players play through injury to earn their big payday.

Why pay huge money for anyone?

It's getting to where I ask myself that all the time.

I would say our best deals have been Olineman and Witten and even those deals you could poke holes in.

Any DT that might unexpectedly become available? I personally feel like that's our biggest need.

Did you notice how Robert Quinn and Aldon Smith kind of pulled up and disappeared late in the year? As if they were going half speed to stay healthy?

Not just picking on them because this is common. There's a whole lot of self-preservation and self-branding going on out there. The team aspect of pro football is a dinosaur.

GMs and owners are taking notice. Why pay top dollar when players see signing day as the finish line, not the Super Bowl?

Who could be the surprise cuts on our end? Teams with money could possibly build something specia if this goes down like they are predicting.

Bigger massacre comes to the dreams of the free agents already out there. Very small pot of money for them to fight over this year. The free agent wage scale is going to drop.

*Although* everything depends on what happens, if anything, with new tv contracts. The 30% increase reported on the Disney/ABC contract would totally flip the script.

I fully expect Washington to sign Anthony Harris and the best receiver available

You do???????

Damn.....guess we may as well accept this is now a different team. Appears they're now doing all the right things to be competitive for years.

We could cut LVE...you just never know...I have a feeling the names on our team alone that will get cut, will shock.

1st round rookie contracts are guaranteed for 4 years. LVE won't be cut.

And even *if* he weren't guaranteed, I doubt they cut a guy who showed so much promise as a rookie for the few million we'd save. Too much upside to throw away.

Teams willing to spend money will get some bargains...we'll be sifting through the trash pile looking at guys who've been injured all of last year to sign for $1.00

Everyone's cap is so bad.......Dallas bargain bin shopping might net them a few good players. This is probably the best year to bargain bin shop. I don't think teams are equipped to have a lower salary cap and still sign their own guys. A lot of teams are going to push the salary down to later years but even then that can only do so much.

We're middle of the road on cap space but we won't go out and pickup any top tier players, maybe a few players for depth or as charron stated, a project player or two.

This free agency, I look forward to us not cutting our current dead weight and signing new dead weight instead.
