I commented in another thread that most if not all of their larger contracts are either underperforming or have injury concerns.

They are in a terrible spot in that way.

I fear they restructure just to compete now, its not enough, then need to pay the price down the road also.

Ideally in this situation, you can move Smith and Lawrence down the road and have the cap grow in a few seasons.

In an ideal world, Smith returns to form with Quinn and its a no brainer. But the reality is, the coaches see Jaylon and Demarcus in their future plans and it stinks lol

Definitely wouldn't say Cooper has underperformed

Keep kicking garbage down the road in typical Dallas fashion.
You dont want cap space...?. And before you say it you get much Cap space in releasing these guys including Zeke and Jaylon than if you do this.

Umm both players are young enough, and they are our best players,

Some of our fans appear to want every player to play for minimum wage. Nothing to be done about it.. They will never change..

If this is how it turns out it's only because that's how we wanted it to.

Restructures are part of the game. It's why teams build them into contracts. They are cyclical. In other words, that can they are kicking down the road keeps getting kicked down the road until the team chooses to stop kicking it.

True but restructuring Coop likely means Gallup walks after the season.......

I don't see the connection here. If you restructure Coop and extend him while dropping him a sizeable bonus for doing so what does that have to do with re-signing Gallup. Lowering Coop's cap number likely improves the chances of keeping Gallup.
