The guys Dallas signed are all solid against the run. The issues in the run game last year were more about effort, scheme, and familiarity with their assignments. It was awful and Poe out there was the worst. He was giving zero effort. One of the worst showings by a DT that I’ve ever seen.

Like Jimmy Johnson said, “run stoppers are a dime-a-dozen”. For the most part I agree, and they don’t have to weigh 350 to do it. They just have to know what to do and have the desire to do it... both of which were missing last season.

The new guys in Quinn’s scheme will be more than adequate against the run. Trust me, even without the new guys, this defense will look like a different group. Quinn alone moves the defense up in the rankings. With the free agent additions (including what is still to come) and the draft, the defensive improvement will be large.

I agree.

I understand the cap just fine. How about the last few years? It’s not the cap going up it’s the Cowboys being cheap in FA. I guess Quinn’s deal was in light of the cap going up too. Keep lapping up that Kool Aid.
If you understand the cap, why did you say that. It's pretty clear that players are going to sign 1 year deals because there isn't a lot of money left out there and there will be money in the future.

the bodies they have signed don’t make them better

you do realize they were #31 against the run last year (that’s out of 32 teams just to refresh your memory )

we don’t have any real DT
we don’t have a really MLB thumper
We don’t have a FS

other than that we’re great
We actually have 5 real DTs. Woods is solid in rotation vs the run. Watkins is very good vs the run. Urban has been a very good run stuffer in rotations with Tenn, Balt, and Chicago, all much better defenses than us, and he was the 3rd highest rated DL vs the run last year in the whole NFL. Hill and Gallimore are also big, strong young DTs. Some of you guys won’t be happy unless we draft or sign and overpay a fat lard buttthat you know well.....and those guys won’t be any better than what we’ve just brought in.

Dude is physical. Can set the tone with hits. Like it

You are right, a broken/stopped clock is right twice a day.

THIS guy has the potential to be worth 5 million. Not a scrub like Anthony Brown.

Now Dan Quinn, who has been the head coach in Atlanta and drafted Neal, wants him at the weakside position. What this means for the rest of the position group is highly interesting as the Cowboys can move away from Smith over the next 48 hours before his 2022 base salary becomes guaranteed.

What are you blabbering about? This has to be a Jerry ghost account.
You are obviously are going to have a negative agenda no matter what they do. You sure don't understand why players are going to sign 1 year deals this year.

You wonder if the NFL will enforce a Rooney McClay rule on the Cowboys in the future where before a free agent can talk to us they must interview with at least one other team.

They have to do something.
I agree with you. This just unfair the talent we have acquire. I worry about the the rest of the 31 teams mental and physical health when they have to play us. I mean Covid is not enough to worry about but now you have to worry about this talented Cowboys team. It is just not fair.

Honestly, a good prove it deal. Problem is, he'll prove and leave and next year we are looking again.

If they were to do that (moving on from Smith) then I would tell you there is definitely something different going on in Cowboys land and what a breath of fresh air that would be.

Would have to research the cap implications though.

6'1" 216? Wow that's pretty big for a FS. The first question for me is was he on the field when Dak was lighting the Falcons up for 450 yards and 4 TDs? If he was then I am decidedly underwhelmed by this signing..
but daks special and makes 40mil not fair LOL

but yes and got trucked by EE..

It doesn't matter what you think of this guy if the team comes together at the right time we as a mediocre team can win the Super Bowl. This guy doesn't excite me but if it works well as a unit and everything comes together it doesn't matter.

mannn if we landed Fuller I would do cartwheels
I am with you too. I would absolutely love to get him and Hooker. Heck if we can’t get Fuller I would not mind Casey Heyward. I have always liked him.
