The Cowboys won't sign him.

This has been going on for days now. If the Cowboys wanted him then they would have already signed him. Usually when it takes this long to sign a player another team comes along and gets him.

How many time have we seen that exact situation happen?

That's what most people said when Kayzee left Dallas for a Detroit visit. Not saying it will happen but there seems to be a lot of issues that have to be worked through if they were to move forward.

Word is KJ wants a 2 year deal and Dallas wants 1, there seems to be some debate internally whether he is the correct signing now that Neal is OB and then you get to the money part of it. I guess we will see.

KJ clearly is on the record that he wants market value with no discounts, which I have to believe is in the $6M to $7M a year range based on his last 2 year deal, which would be last years cap kind of numbers, most players are not getting that is this COVID cap year.

We are not the only team that is not signing him, seems to me in this COVID cap year the 2 year term and price are sticking points most likely for most teams that have a interest or he would be signed already because he is a very good player.

If KJ sticks to his guns he may not have a deal until after the draft as a team finds itself in a position that they did not get the LB they thought they would in the draft.

Just reading tea leafs, but seems to be going that way.

I hope I'm wrong but I can't see us signing him. He wants to get paid and I can't see us spending on him. I'd love to have him on this defense but as we have seen through FA so far, we aren't looking to spend outside very cheap contracts.

Maybe I should call myself an ‘NFL insider’ and start pulling names out of a hat to connect them to the Cowboys? No accountability after all.
What? I’m not getting it lol. The Cowboys and KJ Wright have had communication, that’s a fact. That’s not ‘pulling something out of a hat’. Really not getting how someone telling you the team is communicating with a player is a guarantee of anything. He’s simply saying they’re talking. Why does that bother people?

What's it going to be then, eh?

The longer we wait to sign Wright, the most likely that we won't sign him.

This "we like our guys" schtick is getting old. The Jones's think we are that dumb.
In this case, we reeeeallly like our guys with Vander Esch and especially Swiper.

Wright is an alpha that I bet they fear would call out our weak defensive leadership. Quinn might want him, but I can all but guarantee the Joneses are hesitant.

That must be it, they don't want leadership, what else could it be.

How exactly is this a ‘fact’? Because Fisher said so?

In all years of following this team we are reaching one of higher periods of mistrust from fans. Dallas did themselves no favors by passing on players who could have helped turn this defense around. Its so clearly obvious to me the Jones are delusional in their belief that Quinn will fix most of it. Stephan Jones has been huge disappointment.

"exploring KJ" sounds like a sequel to " exploring Reed." ..some kind of adult film trilogy. Awaiting the 3rd still lol...

Oh so you totally don’t believe that the team has had any communication with him? Even though the guy is in direct contact with Wright you don’t believe him? I feel like at that point you just don’t want to believe it. I mean sheesh he even went into specifics on what they were discussing (contract length).

By the way, reporting that a team and player are communicating is some of the most routine insider coverage you can get. It’s such a mundane and standard thing to be in on, not hard for tenured insiders to know when a team talks to a player. Especially when “talking” could be literally nothing more than a basic preliminary exchange.
