Who would have thought at #10 we have the possibility to pick the best defensive player in the draft? While it appears to be a down year for defense, we still could have the pick of the litter with it looking like offense will go with the first 9 picks. Pretty amazing.

Who’s your selection? Both tackles and Pitts are gone.

If I can't trade back I would go with Surtain.

My ideal draft would be trading back to 15 or 20 and taking Zaven Collins then use the extra pick(s) to move back up and get Barmore. Shore up the middle of the defense early then look for a Corner in round 3.

I am just not convinced that the defensive guys at 10 are heads and shoulders above the guys behind them. This is probably why none will be taken till pick 9 or 10.

If both tackles are gone then the Cowboys have already failed. The Cowboys need to do whatever it takes to draft Sewell, even if they have to reach for him.

Who the hell is Mel Kiper, and who the hell is trying to emulate him?

The best player in this years draft will be known three years down the road. Is a guessing game right now.

Just being truthful. But enjoy your thread cowboys!

I have no idea! lol
I dont really know these players, so will leave it to the Cowboys on who they draft.
They are the ones doing the picking.

I just think they need to pick the best talent there at 10 or trade down. if they want to trade up and get sewell or pitts, I am ok with that,
as long as they dont spend too much doing it.
No injured guys, no dummys, no head cases, get guys that have a brain, and are willing to work hard , and that want to win, not just make money
and dance in the end zones.

No trade possible and all nine picks are offense ... Patrick Surtain II. The safest pick, an immediate starter and a standout in the playoffs.
more than likely the pick, and its a solid pick, just more conservative than most want, the 10 overall is supposed to generate a massive fireworks display, so some will be satisfied and some will still be hungry
after we pick or move at 10.
Conservative approach is we stay at 10 and take the BPA or move down.
Progressive approach is Jerry seeks his new shiny toy and moves up for Pitts.

We can't miss on this pick. I want whoever the Zach Martin pick is in the top 10 or trade back. From what I've read that's Pitts or Surtain but Sewell or Slater would be OK too.
Sewell would be the homerun slide at the plate.
Slater/Surtain would be fine, but if some how Chase where to somehow slip and enters the fold than it really gets interesting in that scenario.

I wouldn't call it a home run but he would be a good pick that I wouldn't complain about and I respect your opinion. He is the highest rated OL in the draft and he moves extremely well for a big man but he does have some work to do on blocking technique, the ideal arm length for OT is 34" and his are 33.25" (Slater's are 1/4" shorter at 33"), and Slater was stronger at least in the bench press at their pro days with three more reps.

Indeed, but Tyrannosaurus Rex didn't rely on long arms either.
