Nice to know we will get run through again....

At least we have fast LBs who can chase them down and not let them run past 20 yards after the LOS they break through

That just highlights how moronic it is to stand pat with all their "random" picks instead of moving up to get a quality player.

But that’s my point, after our second pick how many guys were there that are clearly more likely to be stars than anyone else still on the board? Every player outside the top 50-60 guys every year has HUGE holes in their game and have big bust potential because of it.

I was scratching my head too, but you can’t seriously judge a draft 5 minutes after day 2. Again, not saying we drafted the legion of boom or anything, but Seahawks fans where up in arms when Sherman, Browning, and Chancellor were picked. When they grabbed Bruce Irvin everyone was shocked and their fans were pissed (have a buddy who’s a Hawks fan).

Can’t judge a draft until 2-3 years after. Does look shaky right now but I’m not going to lose sleep over a future I can’t predict. These guys could all be great picks or terrible picks, we have 0 idea right now.

It’s been 3 years since this game. The strategy isn’t working buddy.

you’re objectively right, for sure. Here’s to hoping some of these picks turn out well. You really never do know

You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

The long term draft data shows there is very little correlation between draft grades, draft position and likelihood of meaningful NFL contribution in the later rounds. You’re only about 1.5x as likely to make a pro bowl if picked in the 3rd round vs the 6th round. The percentage of players who get second contracts varies very little between the later rounds.

I can see the point of the dline guys
I just can’t get the Wright pick
I don’t think he’s a draft worthy player let alone a 3rd round pick

I don’t hate the 2 DL picks.

our front 7 has been soft as charmin for years. I’m glad they’re trying to fix that.

McClay is not the problem.

GMs thinking all they need is a few role players to help the manage the cap is the problem.

Stephen places more emphasis on the cap than players and performance, like there's some secret competition for best money manager

Right! This is the new “Cowboy way” and owner speak. We are cheap and looking for “value” in FA. Now they are transferring this to the draft and making it about cap and not making moves. Then they outsmart themselves. It makes no sense when you also can combine draft value to make things happen. It’s like they are clueless

This is actually true. Sports radio in Seattle killed the Seahawks for that pick.

I legit don’t know how any of these guys are going to do. Apparently we have a plan and we have a D-coordinator with actual skins on the wall from this century, so I’m willing to see how it plays out.

How do you blame McClay when obviously decisions are being made based on who the coaches believe fit the system they want to run -- mainly cover 3?

I disagree. You find diamonds in every round and bust in every round that people said were going to be great. The defense needs help everywhere I much prefer throw multiple picks at it to give yourself a chance of hitting.

If the defense was a player or two away, or great value drops some, then yes trade up some to get that guy. This defense isn't a player or 2 away

After Parsons literally falling in your lap and being savvy enough to read the league to pick up a 3rd, how does everyone in the draft room take a dose of peyote and start firing darts at a list of every college player.

People really want to defend not packaging White Gholton or triple word score pick for Barmore or Moehrig was a wash on impact?
