Confidence or Hope?

The last quarter century has been hard on us long time Cowboys fans. Year after year, hoping for some kind of change that translates into at the very least a deep playoff run keeps me and many others hanging on.

So it raises a question- Do you have confidence this team can change its fortunes or do you just have hope?

When I watched that clown show of a war room last night, I was reminded once again as a Cowboys fan that HOPE is all I have. I HOPE someday we return to past glory. I HOPE we can improve from mediocrity or worse. I HOPE this front office has learned from its seemingly endless past mistakes. I HOPE this offseason brings an influx of talent and upgrade. I HOPE.

Am I CONFIDENT we are headed in the right direction? No. My brother-in-law is a huge fan of the Broncos. Was talking with him yesterday and he was clearly confident in his team’s ability to re-tool. I thought, “I wish I had some of that confidence.” At least I still have HOPE.

As a Cowboys fan at this point, all I can do is HOPE.

I love the Parsons pick and like the Joseph pick.

Both players have the ability to be day one impact players. If that happens, regardless of anything else that happens this draft, it will have been a good draft.

After the last 25 years all we have is hope. Any fan that is confident in the Jones' brain trust is willfully ignorant. Sorry, not sorry.

I have no confidence and very little hope. Jerry and Stephen are who they are at this point, so I can't talk myself into confidence.

A sliver of hope is all that remains. I do not believe I will ever see another SB involving the Cowboys, but I hope I'm wrong.

I don’t have hope or anything anymore for this team. The Dak deal really ruined it for me and showed their hand for what their true priority is which is just being entertaining and relevant.

Other teams make moves to win.. Dallas just thinks things will come to them.

Hope. The last two good seasons the Cowboys have had came out of nowhere. Jerry must not have been looking where he was walking and stepped on a steaming pile. We'll need him to do that again.

I have hope but lack confidence in the brain trust to turn the ship because nothing happens if they don't.

It is a strange situation, to say the least. They can just keep doing what they've been doing and still be rewarded for their incompetency.

I am confident this doesn't change even with the son taking over because I actually think he's worse. I have lots of experience in dealing with entitled second generation owners of businesses and it usually isn't an improvement because one does not inherit passion for something.

And truth be told, I save my hope for other things. I really don't care whether they fix this or not and if they were to even win another ring, that does not improve my life one iota.

At some point, confidence or hope became complacency as I accepted what is and will not change. But I am OK with it because like you and many others here, I have those memories of when this did matter and I can still love the laundry and the memories.

We improved our defense no doubt even though we reached for most of it. We also have to keep in mind that so did every team out there to.

There’s always a sliver of hope when our team lines up for 60 minutes despite all of our dysfunctional ways leading in.

But expecting change with these Clowns is a false hope . Not sure why we go thru this every year. It’s been a generation and nothings changing. Rinse and repeat . No hope of real change.

I think some fans had false hope things were changing with a more proven and experienced HC.
