Hindsight is 20/20 but since Fields was available at 10 does it make overpaying Dak look worse? They could have given Dak the franchise tag and maybe trade him after drafting Fields.
Well first of all. Prescott is not overpaid. Look at Carson Wentz Jared Goff already left the teams that draft them. Yes people might not like Prescott. But he’s a quarterback and get over it

Again what’s wrong with some of these fans. Do you know what Prescott brings to the table. The kid is a winner. Yeah let’s go for a nobody.

It really depends on the trade market for Dak. If we could have gotten at least 2 1st round picks and a young defensive starter it could have been worth it.

Its a good question. Dak is a top QB despite what the trolls say. Fields will be lucky to get there. Now if Dak could have been tradee for like 3 first round picks, then maybe we can talk. But the chances of Fields turning out to be Dak is probably about 15%-20%.

Not in my mind. Look how the draft went already. No I’m happy with what I have

One reason Fields was still there at 10 is because teams, like Chicago, knew Dallas would not take him. If Dak is tagged everything changes.

4 out of 5 first roudn QBs fail and amount to nothing in the NFL....so if Lawrence is the bomb, then what about wilson? if wilson is the bomb? what about the rest. I wasn't high on Fields anyway and there is no problem with paying dak. he counts 22M agains tthe cap this year. were there Defensive players we really wanted and couldn't get? plus, you don't build through FA, you build through draft. plus, was there any player on defense we really wanted to keep and couldn't? fields would have needed a strong defense.....and spending your first round pick on offense and then you still have a craapy defense.....

if we can't draft well defensively, we have no chance, even if mahomes played for cowboys

Come on ridiculous. We know what we have in Prescott. We have no idea how field is going to play in this league

You don’t win championships paying Dak’s like they are elite.

I’d rather go this route and if it doesn’t work out then draft another.

The Dak experiment was foolish and we’ll win nothing.

But Dallas is the last to figure things like this out and like their fan base they still build their team and think football is played like it was in 1992.
