Heck yeah, I thought he would go in the 3rd. I wanted Cox last night when the boys selected Oregon St (Wright). I love the draft now. I feel like Dallas stole Parsons and Cox.

Cox:

Strengths
  • Excellent work ethic and is accomplishment-oriented on and off field.
  • Not at all out of place athletically in move from FCS to SEC.
  • Willing to play through pain.
  • Outstanding field range with explosive closing burst.
  • Comes from backside linebacker spot to make tackles near far sideline.
  • Agility to make sudden change of direction in pursuit.
  • Steps upfield to challenge block and push run back inside.
  • Capable of playing quickly off the block and making tackle.
  • Pocket navigation and acceleration to become dangerous blitzer.
  • Sticks and runs with pass-catching tight ends in coverage.
  • Instinctive and reactive when spot dropping.
  • Finished college with 26 passes defensed, including 9 career interceptions.

Dang everybody, Dallas has 4 studs at Lb. Dallas will be top 5 in defense with this draft.

Go Dallas!!!

Tweeners tend to drop. JOK was drafted R2-20. The majority of draft analysts had him ranked (based on pure talent) in the top half of round 1. He dropped because he might not hold up physically as a full time LB and NFL teams get skittish early in the draft if they think a prospect might be a part-time player.
One would think the tweener types would be in demand since teams seem to be adjusting to more passing with turning a SS into a WLB, corners into FS...

Some scouts think his shoulder will never heal. We stay the way of high risk high reward but i dont mind these picks in the 4th. IF we just had a better Round 3.
He played the full season in 2020

The beauty of this pick is Boys are set at LB this year and next. If Jaylon produces fine if not Cap casualty next year, As for LVE, the injuries just keep hurting him and the team.

------Bye bye Jaylon Smith... calling it now... June 1st cut

How about a little respect for a player who has overcome a lot.....her name is Jaclyn!!!

Again, I'd give a months salary to see the look on Jaclyn Smith's face when she's told her services are no longer wanted.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe there would be any cap savings by cutting him until next offseason so I think he stays unfortunately

Nice selection. Well, we definitely cannot say now that they're not interested in fixing the defense.

mot immediate man get real these guys are not unseating JS an LVE right out of the box
I think both will have significant roles for different reasons. Parsons is obviously your 1st round pick and they are going to find a way to get his talent on the field. Cox is simply your best coverage LB NOW. I don’t know how you keep him off the field in nickel situations.

Smith is the worst starting linebacker in the league. LVE is Sean Lee 2.0. They should both be scared for their jobs

I really like this pick. It's day 3 of the draft and the Cowboys scouts are showing off.

Will he be better than Bradie James LB from LSU also selected in the 4th round?
